Mobile App for Monitoring Construction Activity of Multi Purpose Cyclone Shelters This is being implemented for monitoring progress of work of 150 Multi Purpose Cyclone Shelters, being constructed under NCRMP-II Project. Data including images, texts, Lat-Long data, etc will be captured by hand held smart devices and stored in a central server for real time monitoring.

Implementation of Hospital Disaster Preparedness & Response Training The Department is implementing Hospital Disaster Preparedness & Response Training in M. R. Bangur Hospital, Kolkata as first step to reduce the vulnerabilities of the hospitals. Disaster Management Plans will be prepared and a pool of Master Trainers will be created. The model will be replicated in other Hospitals also.

Use of Whatsapp in the Department of Disaster Management The Department is using whatsapp to share information of different incidents for better coordination among the different stake holders in the state of West Bengal. On August 14, 2015 a group named Disaster Management Group, West Bengal was created by the officials of this department and information can be shared almost instantaneously with the help of this App.
