St. Patrick’s day. The history of that holyday is connected with a personality of Patrick what lived in the British Isles and was captured from the British to Ireland. One night when he was praying a voice told him to escape . Patrick sailed to Europe and disembarked. Finally finding his way home, the boy felt what he was called by God to perform an important mission .

Patrick arrived in Ireland and become a missionary, traveling from village to village and talking about his faith. Stories of Saint Patrick, for by then he was a saint, reached far and wide.

St. Patrick died on March, 17 and the Irish people set aside the day to mourn. Americans have inherited this custom. On St. Patrick’s Day in the United States, millions of people celebrate whether they are Irish or not.
