Structure – Since Restructuring (completed 15 March 2010) • 5 Veterans Welfare Centres (VWCs) – – – Norcross (Blackpool) Kentigern House (Glasgow) TA Centre (Kidderminster) Imjin Barracks (Innsworth) Centurion (Gosport) • Each centre has – – VWC Manager Regional Manager Welfare Advisors providing back office support Manned telephone support/contact Welfare Managers, visiting officers based in the VWC satellite offices or home-workers.
Scope of the VWS Subject matter experts - in SPVA schemes & DWP benefits Caseworker Approach - assigned at transition or first contact - holistic assessment and continuity Supports - Veterans, their Families and the bereaved Provides - support, advice, referral, signposting On - entitlements, housing, education, reablement, employment and financial management
