(СIVIL) THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM In all legal systems there are institutions for creating, modifying, abolishing and applying the law.

The civil actions take place between two or more individuals in dispute

County Court The lowest court in a civil action is a County Court , of which there is one in every town in England Wales. The judges are always professionals.

The General limit in such cases heard before the county court is 25, 000 pounds. Cases involving larger amounts of money are heard by one of the divisions of the High Court

The High Court has unlimited civil jurisdiction and consists of thre branches: Queen’s Bench , the Family and Chancery Division

The Chancery Division This division covers such matters as the sale of property, the administration of the estate of deceased persons and mental patients , deeds, trusts, company law , bankruptcy, partnership and patents.

The Queen’s Bench Division This division hears the most serious contract and tort actions. It also deals with judicial review which concerns actions brought by individuals against public authorities who exceed, abuse or fail to use their powers. This applies to local authorities , government ministers , magistrate’s courts and tribunals.

The Family Division Serious domestic and matrimonial cases are dealt with in this Division. These include matters of child custody, guardianship, adoption, maintenance and divorce.

Conclusion To sum up the system of Civil Courts is very different from Russian court system.
