Introduction “Due to robots’ versatility and growing capabilities, not just a few economic sectors will be affected, but whole swaths will be. Economic efficiency will be the driver. The social consequence is that good-paying jobs will be increasingly scarce. ” “Some classes of jobs will be handed over to the ‘immigrants’ of AI and Robotics, but more will have been generated in creative and curating activities as demand for their services grows exponentially while barriers to entry continue to fall. For many classes of jobs, robots will continue to be poor labor substitutes. ”
Context
To what extent are people aware of the global issue of expansion of the robots? For what reasons should human beings need to increase the number of labourer robots? What are the ways of avoiding the drawbacks of an intervention of the automation in the labour market? What are the negative sides of using AI in the modern world?
Method
Online survey Creating a questionnaire via the Internet is faster. The URL of the online questionnaire can be sent easily to the email addresses. It provides with big sample size. It is free. It is effective in making calculations. Participants cannot skip the questions. Problems with an Internet access It demonstrates the output in the forms of the various charts and diagrams that make the results more clear.
Results Secondary research
Primary research More than two thirds of people know what artificial intelligence is. Boys are more aware than girls about the artificial intelligence. Most of respondents (30. 95% (13 respondents)) believe that development of robotics affects in high levels on all given spheres.
Majority of participants claim that human beings need robots (61. 9%). As expected, robots are mostly beneficial for that they make everyday life easier (6 people).
It is difficult to state whether young people want to work with robots, as their proportions are very similar (20 -answered “Yes”, 22 - answered “No”). 69. 05% of people think that robots can be a reason for reducing workplaces on labour market. Common reason for this is that robots work for free (6 respondents).
Almost all respondents think that the problem of the interference of robots with the world labour market being actual in the recent years. 59. 52% of them answered that they have noticed that for modern employees people with technical degree are more valuable than other ones. 69. 05% of people answered that humans should not solve the problem.
Compared to boys, girls mostly think that the problem should be solved. 36. 71% of people answered that robots will be widespread in Kazakhstan after 20 -25 years.
Conclusion To what extent are people aware of the global issue of expansion of the robots? Answer: Majority of young people that were surveyed are aware of the main consequences and reasons of the increasing in number of robots and realize the actuality of the problem. In general 90. 48% of respondents acknowledge importance of solving this issue. However the research was conducted on young people in school and colleges and therefore this may not be true for older people. It is not possible to generalise to the whole population.
What are the ways of avoiding the drawbacks of an intervention of the automation in the labour market? Answer: The main forms of action that people are considering as solution are: v. Create new professions that only humans can have, therefore robots cannot replace them. v. Reduce the number of artificial intelligence in other words carefully regulate the number of the devices.
For what reasons should human beings need to increase the number of labourer robots? Answer: ØThey make everyday life easier. ØThey can replace blue collar workers, and then do all heavy works instead of humans. ØHuman beings always must develop technology, create new inventions and develop themselves.
Answer: üBy replacing people from their job places, they can increase the unemployment rate for big percentages. üThey slow down the human progression, as almost everything will be done by robots, not people. Thus humans might become very lazy and will not have intention to work and develop. What are the negative sides of using AI in the modern world?
Evaluation The research was generally successful. Problem with questionnaire
1. More research could be done on the attitudes of older people. 2. Next time it is important to make an online questionnaire that is more reputable. 3. It is necessary to take an interview.
