Simulation of laser cooling using cellular automata Arabey Sergey, Nilov Ivan, Rozhdestvensky Yuri. ITMO University, Kronvergskii 49, S. - Petersburg, Russia ABSTRACT This work is devoted to the simulation of longitudinal laser cooling of atomic beam using cellular automata. We are show that this technique describes correctly the process of cooling without solving equation for distribution function. OBJECTIVES CONCLUSIONS The figures shows that the distributions obtained through simulation looks exactly the same as the distribution calculated by solving the Fokker-Planck equation. In addition, our simulated distributions look very similar to real distributions, obtained by cooling rubidium atoms with and without changing the laser radiation frequency. This tells us that the simulation correctly reflects the behavior of the particles hindering of light emission.
