Task No. 1.
On the first task it was necessary to choose 1 of 4 offered points, and to explain what relation this object has to Canada. 1. American elk 2. Grizzly bear 3. Newfoundland dog 4. City of Bayton I decided to take two animals. This is the American elk and a grizzly bear.
The first about whom I will write it the American elk. Coat of arms of the Province of Ontario Elk in Canada – especially esteemed animal. For a long time Indians – aboriginals of modern Canada – worshipped to an elk. According to their legend, the elk returned to people warmly and fire which were stolen by the thief of the Sun. Indeytsy-algonkiny called an elk "mousse" (an obgladyvatel of bark). Still the name "mousse" occurs in names of the rivers, islands, towns. On a Canada map more than 600 names in which the elk – the majority of them is mentioned in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia.
After Indians of an elk began to read and the European emigrants – the image of this animal appeared on the coats of arms of provinces and cities. Now the noble profile of an elk is minted on coins, to it put monuments and let out numerous souvenirs with moose symbolics. In 2000 in Toronto in honor of a national symbol more than 300 figures of elks full-scale were established.
The second is a grizzly bear. The royal Mint of Canada let out a five-dollar coin from silver which reverse is decorated by a grizzly bear. The grizzly (Ursus arctos horribilis) — subspecies of a brown bear (Ursus arctos) living mainly on Alaska and in the western regions of Canada on appearance and the sizes of a grizzly is close to the Siberian subspecies of a brown bear. Structure of a body and look it is similar to the Russian colleague, but it is more, heavier, clumsy and is stronger than it, shoulders, a throat and a belly of a grizzly are covered dark brown, on the ends with more fair hair which in general on all body longer and are more fluffy, than at a brown bear. American differs from the European bears in a short skull, convex nasal bones, a wide, flat forehead and short ears, the adult grizzly bear of half -ton weighs, and its growth will be not less than 3 meters! Task No. 2.
I looked for long time on the Internet who such Anglophones and francophones. And from this that I read, I understood that Anglophones it is English-speaking residents of Canada (first of all native speakers of English). And francophones it too the population of the country only they are native speakers of French. Opposition of English-speaking and French-speaking culture in Canada which is especially brightly expressed in Quebec, originates in the first years of development of Canada. It is known that French were the first settlers who began to master Canada. Years of war for the right of control over the territory with British and political instability in France forced to leave the homeland a large number of French and to lodge in the territory which began to be called as the Province of Quebec subsequently.
Villages and small towns in Quebec were initially populated with francophones. Industrial centers and big cities owing to migration and other circumstances long time remained mainly English-speaking. At the time of "quiet revolution" the situation changed. In New Bransvike (he – Nuvo. Brasuik) francophones live in the basic in the northeast. They are called "akadiyets", the region – as Akadiya. Unlike "kebeku" (residents of Quebec) they don't feel restrained and aren't going to separate. Practically all fluently and correctly is spoken both languages.
Big all thanks for attention!!! On it my work on a syllabus is complete.
