Session 3 Virtual Observatories, Data Bases and new Tools Convenor : C. C. Harvey CNRS / Centre d’Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements Toulouse, France Centre de Données de la Physique des Plasma : a multi-mission data centre run collaboratively by : • CNES for technological aspects of data archiving • CNRS for the user interface and access tools ESWW-3 Session 3 1
Objectives • The success of a Space Weather service will depend upon its ability to process a multitude of diverse data products adequately, and quickly. • Space Weather is not alone. The ESWW 3 Session 1 poster by Christian Jacquey et al. concludes “A virtual Observatory needs to be built for targeting and providing heterogeneous and pluri-disciplinary data, and help to perform their integrated analysis”. • The purpose of this session is to examine what exists : – specifically for space weather, or – elsewhere, and may be of interest to this community.
