TRADE • UK leaving ‘Customs Union’ but want ‘deep and special partnership’ • UK/EU recognition of NI/Ro. I border and that ‘flexible and imaginative solutions will be required’ • Major impact on level of support needed for agriculture
AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT • Funding (approx. £ 300 m/annum) maintained up to 2020 but beyond? • Future delivery system – opportunity/transition/reward ‘activity’/regionalisation • Possible UK Agriculture Bill (to give certainty). • Considerable UFU activity currently.
REGULATION • Conversion of EU law into Domestic Law (Great Repeal Bill) • Future simplification essential LABOUR • • Early agreement on citizens’ rights wanted by UK Future availability of non-British labour needs to be facilitated.
TRADE § Best possible access to European markets and to continue/secure additional trade agreements outside the EU § Action to ensure UK production and food security is not undermined by lower standard imports § Minimising disruption to existing trade relationships between Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland. § Establishing NI as an international centre of excellence for plant and animal health/breeding
