Jeffrey Gilger Who’s New? Who Knew? Profile: • BA Psychology and MS Clinical Child/School Psychology, California State University, Hayward • MA Experimental Psychology and Ph. Jim Gilligan Who’s New? Who Knew? Profile: • Native of Brooklyn, NY • B. A. and M. A. in English from Queens College of the City University of New York • Seventeen years of experience as a high school and college instructor in English, Education, and Theater Arts • Former Block I instructor and supervisor of student teachers in English at Purdue Student Teaching Coordinator Office of Field Experiences • Interests include: Pop culture, literature, theatre, baseball, New York Mets, and tennis • My Warholian fifteen minutes of fame: I was a contestant on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire? ” in February 2000

Rhonda Wilson Who’s New? Who Knew? Profile: • Assists with liaison efforts to school corporations and University faculty. • Assists with daily office operations & activities • Coordinates office duties such as processing files, keeping and updating placement statistical reports, facilitating phone operations, assisting students and others at the reception desk. Secretary Office of Field Experiences • Hobbies include working in my flower garden, playing and spending time with my 3 grand children. My husband I enjoy raising club calves for 4 -H kids who cannot afford to buy their own animals to show at fair time.

Goals Curriculum & Instruction 2004 -2005

Discovery Goals – EDCI • Increase the number of journal articles published by the faculty • Continue increased grant-writing activity begun last year • Initiate a new program in C&I to provide support to selected faculty members during the summer to prepare and submit grant applications • Initiate new opportunities within C&I for sharing on-going research

Learning Goals – EDCI • Review beginning teacher preparation programs (especially elementary) in the wake of NCATE, and propose program adjustments • Examine graduate education -- including TTT, graduate professional development, and research foundations -- and determine future directions

Engagement Goals – EDCI • Implement distance education courses developed through last year's initiative • Seek more opportunities to publicize ongoing engagement efforts

Overarching Goals – EDCI • Expeditiously search for and fill available faculty positions • Complete program area strategic planning processes to align activities with the School's and University’s Strategic Plan
