Khrushev added it to the Ukraine because he wanted to gain Ukrainian support in the Political Party. Crimea is 85% only Russian speaking. New Ukrainian Parliament wanted to fully prohibit Russian language in Ukraine. These people do not speak Ukrainian at all.

WHAT DOES MAJORITY OF RUSSIANS FEEL: Attack on a President Russians see as a personal attack; Russians do not trust the West, democracy and are sure that the West wants to attack Russia; Russians believe that sanctions were introduced to change the regime in Russia, destabilize economy, country to change the President and bring someone like Khodorkovsky to power. Russians believe that the Nazis came to power in Ukraine. Partially true, the Political party “Svoboda”(Freedom) is neofascist, as well as “Pravi Sector”(Right sector). Only in Moscow you may find more than 30 % people disapprove Putin. Russians are prepared for 2 -3 years recession. No panic. After 820% inflation in 1992 people are prepared to see anything. Russians feel they prevent war in Russia by these actions.
