3 Safety Certification Scheme which is granted the safety certification on electrical appliances after testing them and assessing their production system Overseas/domestics manufacturers who produce the electrical appliances on the market of Korea shall obtain the safety certification on each model. Apply for the Safety Certification overseas/domestic manufacturers Conduct the factory Inspection Certification Body Issue the Certificate Test products Testing Laboratory Certification Body Within 45 days When the most influencing components of each model have been modified, the manufacturers shall apply for the safety certification on basic model to the certification body. application document : product description, circuit schematic diagram, list of components, agent identification(when an agent apply for safety certification) Company Logo

3 -1 Electrical appliances subject to Safety Certification 247 electrical appliances having the high hazard against safety which shall obtain the safety certification are mandatory, and others are voluntary. Mandatory(247 items) 1. Cables and cords: 10 items including rubber Voluntary 8. 2. Switches for electrical appliances: 10 items including interceptors for electrical appliances 3. 4. 9. 10. 3 -5 Items exempt from Safety certification products which import into Korea for the purpose of exporting to the overseas products which obtain the KS certification according to the Industrial Standardization Act components for repairing the imported electrical appliances subject to safety certification Not more than 2. 5% of imported finished products to be used for research at school & research institute products to be used for exhibition or fair Company Logo
