Home Safety Always lock your door and windows in your apartment/home n Do not admit to being alone on the phone n Do not open the door to strangers – use a peep hole and always ask “who is it? ” and ask for ID before opening the door n

Earthquake Safety n n n Duck under a sturdy object like a desk or bed Avoid windows, filing cabinets, bookcases, and heavy objects that could shatter or fall Stay under cover until the shaking stops, then evacuate the building Use the stairs, do not use the elevator In the event of a major earthquake, turn off gas
Disaster Prevention Register your local address at your nearest Embassy or Consulate in the USA n Should be prepared in the event of a major emergency to be self-sufficient for 3 days (72 hours) n

Campus Fire Drills Emergency Procedures and map in each classroom n Once a semester – practice n Evacuate to parking lots, away from buildings n Take all personal belongings with you n Wait for “all clear” from Campus Safety Officer or Administrator n
Sexual Assault/ Rape n n n n n Think about the level of intimacy you want in a relationship and clearly state your limits You must get affirmative consent for sex Everyone has the right to say “no” to sex at any time Consent cannot be give is someone is asleep or incapacitated by drugs or alcohol If sex isn’t consensual, it is RAPE! Don’t leave your drink unattended at any time Be aware of your surroundings at all time At a party, go with a group of friends and watch out for each other Don’t be isolated with someone you don’t know or trust
