Safeguarding Adults in Sport Steering Group • Vision: Sport and recreation is an open, Safeguarding Adults in Sport Steering Group • Vision: Sport and recreation is an open, inclusive and safe environment for adults at risk • Mission: To embed the concept of safeguarding adults at risk in all sport and recreation organisations, so they have the tools, guidance and expertise to safeguard adults in sport and recreation.

Sporting Future: A New Strategy for an Active Nation • ‘A strategy that encourages Sporting Future: A New Strategy for an Active Nation • ‘A strategy that encourages everyone to be more active, to prioritise physical activity in their busy lives, to volunteer in sport and help play their part in driving the sporting economy should also set out how they will be looked after and protected’ • This comes with a ‘Duty of Care’ • Need to ensure ‘Safeguarding for children and people in a vulnerable situation’ HM Government December 2015
