Rome 2017 18 th – 23 rd September
Accomodation Ø Villa Palazzola was built on the site of a Roman Consul’s prestigious summer estate, dramatically perched high above the extinct volcanic Lake Albano in the Alban Hills, 18 miles south of Rome. The Cistercians, who formed the first monastic community here, built the Villa’s beautifully restored church, Our Lady of the Snows, in the 13 th century
Ø In 1920, after 500 years serving as a Franciscan House, Palazzola was bought by the Venerable English College so that its students could retreat from the sweltering heat of Roman summers. For centuries a place of prayer, now with added facilities for recreation and dining, we are delighted to be able to open its doors and share with you the Villa’s beauty and charm.
