Rockers called the British youth in living in the 1960 th years of the last century which to dissect on highways of people around of the city on motorcycles with a speed up to 160 kilometers per hour. Rockers became subculture in the fiftieth, the beginning of the sixtieth years of the last century during a rock'n'roll era, but in difference from other subcultures appeared in too time which basis was the music, the first rockers were united by only one principle – a driving manner on the motorcycle, and then already there were all other accompanying attributes.
From odezhdyroker chose practical things. They wore the leather motorcycle jackets decorated with metal thorns and badges. When they went by motorcycles, usually didn't carry a helmet, or carried a classical helmet an open face and aviation points. And still t-shirts, leather caps, jeans, leather trousers, high army boots.
There were rockers in the early fifties, and they began to associate with music only in the sixtieth. Their main distinctive signs became attachment to a rock'n'roll and a driving on the motorcycle. In the USSR attachment to a rock'n'roll got more other forms. Powerful motorcycles which in those days the American rockers had, for the Soviet students were simply dream and therefore was stored houses only in the form of pictures or posters. Because of it music became the main difference of rocker subculture in the USSR.
Rocker subculture, welcome the only current which doesn't provide from the representatives anything, except the positive relation to music. Adherents of fate start playing quite often similar music without departing from cash desk, forming the small musical teams. The rocker subculture is very close to the biker. Fans of motorcycles created biker subculture parallel to rockers. Rockers and bikers are absolutely apolitical and put itself over social problems.
Many rockers abused something, but it it didn't prevent them to build the subculture on philosophical ways of perception of the world it is possible to hear in texts of their songs. In an ideal, the rocker is a widely-read person who understands a public situation, is able to think and draw independently conclusions which states in the corresponding texts set to music.
In view of versatility of this culture most extended at us, it it is possible to call representatives indefinitely. Victor Tsoy ("Cinema"), Yury Shevchyuk ("DDT"), Konstantin Kintchev ("Alice"), Vyacheslav Butusov, Andrey Makarevich and others associate with legends of fate at us. The Russian rock this separate concept which doesn't have analogs, but very dear in other world.
Now the term "rocker" is used only for the description of admirers of a rock music or rock musicians. And on change to classical subculture of rockers, movement of bikers came. About them we will surely talk, but somehow another time.
