Sustainability Summit When : August 3 -4, 2012 Where : Shcholkine, Crimea. What : Two-day Summit. Powered by clean energy. Camp will feature a variety of seminars, workshops and cultural activities. Why: To gain a better understanding of what Sustainable Development means in the context of Ukraine. Specific emphasis will be placed on exploring the concept of sustainability in Ukraine following the EURO 2012 football tournament.

Sustainability Summit Content Seminar I: What is Sustainable Development? Seminar II: Energy, Design, Technology. Seminar III: Finance, Planning, Advocacy. * Presentations and workshops by event partners and sponsors. * Evening cultural, team-building and eco-tourism activities.
Sustainability Summit: Agenda Day 1: [Wednesday August 1]: Organizers arrive and begin establishing camp. Day 2: [Thursday August 2]: Organizers continue to arrive and finish establishing camp. Sustainability Summit: Design & Technology Camp will feature innovative design. Constructed from locally sourced natural building materials. Self-sufficient – integrated means of collecting water and generating power. Cost-effective. Mobile. * Upon conclusion of camp, materials will be deconstructed and donated to charitable cause.
• Participants gain greater understanding of what sustainable development means in the context of contemporary Ukrainian society. • Participants can meet and network with alumni from several USG sponsored educational exchange programs. • Participants can receive feedback and consultation upon how to incorporate principles of sustainable development into their own local projects. • Sustainability camp informational resources to be made freely available online. • Upon conclusion of camp, all physical materials (tents, pavilions, etc. ) will be broken down and donated to charitable cause. Sustainability Summit: Organizational Team Рішення Є! Advisory Board : Consists of several senior FLEX and other USG program alumni to provide overall project guidance and advice. 1 Logistics Coordinator: Responsible for camp logistics and planning. Manage team of volunteers. Will receive honorarium upon conclusion of camp. Camp attendance including transportation will be free for Logistics Coordinator. 9 Volunteers: Assist with all aspects of camp planning, logistics, setup, operation, and breakdown. Camp attendance including transportation will be free for all volunteers.
