Objectives of RMU&LE Works - To Improve performance, efficiency, availability and reliability of the Hydro Power Plant (HPP). R&M Works - To address non-availability of spares due to technological obsolescence. - Technological upgradation of the systems. Uprating Works Uprating of the unit capacity to utilize capacity margins. Restoration Works Restoration of the rated capacity. LE Works Extends the normal useful life of HPP by another 25 -35 years. 7
Major Equipment Covered Under Life Extension • Generator • Transformer & Switchgear • Bus Ducts / Cables • Control & Protection System • Turbine (Runner, Guide Vanes) • Fire Protection System • Valves (Penstock Valve & MIV) • Hydro-Mechanical Works (Intake & Draft Tube gates) • Associated Civil Works 8
