Relationships
It is not a secret that we live in the community, every day we see people around us: at home, at work, in the street-everywhere. And in some degree success in our life depends on the way we build up our relations with people. It is very important and vital to have good relations with everybody; otherwise you are doomed to the life isolated and lonely. No doubt sometimes it is a way-out; we can enumerate cases when people went to the wood to lead a life of monk or ascetic. But most of people choose a more usual way - to live among people and try to communicate with them.
It is not always easy to build up harmonious relationships. Conflicts are widespread, and sometimes a quarrel even is a sort of getting popularity as we can observe it in the world of show business where a scandal is a guarantee that you will be discussed everywhere. There also people who are called “energy vampires”. They get their bread and butter in the negative emotions of other people. So they adore quarrels too. But I want to believe most of people prefer harmony in relationships.
As we have already mention relationships may be of different kinds. They may be close and intense and long-lasting as family kinships. They may be brief and casual when we have to ask about time in the street or something like that. The other very popular kind is professional or business ties. But it is well-known that any brief and even professional connection may become strong and permanent, there are many cases when business partners fell in love with each other and got married, and the status of their relations changed.
There are lots of synonyms of the word “relationships” and anyone has its certain tinge. When we speak about family we can use such words as kinship and consanguinity. Business relations can be called association, affiliation or rapport. Relations with friends are also known as closeness, attachment and ties.
A good joke and a sense of humor is also a good method of overcoming problems in communication. People who can laugh at themselves and turn the difficult situation into a joke have more chances to be successful in life. I can also add the other important factors that everyone has to learn. It is ability to admit your own guilt or being in the wrong and ability to keep silent when nobody asks your point of view.
«We all know that it is very difficult to change yourself and now think about our chances to change somebody else» -I like this aphorism very much. It is necessary to admit the rights and desires of other people. And humanism is a key-word in our relationships with other people
