River Tames
River Tames One of the most famous rivers in the world is the Thames. The capital of Great Britain, London, is built on it. It is the longest river in England the second longest in the United Kingdom. The river's length is 334 km. The name "Thames" recorded in Latin as "Tamesis" and probably meant "dark". The other river names such as Tame, Tavy, Teviot, Teifi (Tafwys). The river gives its name to several geographical and political centers, including the Thames Valley, a region of England around the river between Oxford and west London, the Thames Gateway, the area centred on the tidal Thames, and the Thames Estuary to the east of London.
Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge There are many bridges on this beautiful river. The biggest and more wonderful is Tower Bridge. It looks like a castle. As Tower was building in 1894, it is over 100 years old. The bridge closes to the Tower of London, which gives it its name. Tower Bridge has become a symbol of London, one of the famous. It has two towers, and you can go up in a lift, then walk across the bridge. The view is fantastic! As you know, the two bridge's sides can go up. So Tower opens 900 times every year.
Regent`s Park
Regent`s Park Regent's Park (officially The Regent's Park) is one of the Royal Parks of London. For the period between 1649 and 1660 it was set aside as a hunting park, known as Marylebone Park, but later, in 1811 the Prince Regent (later King George IV) ordered to name the park his name. In 1838 Regent's Park became open for everyone. Nowadays the park is the most interesting, popular and lovely place for time spending. It contains Regent's College and the London Zoo. Also Regent's Park has 6 zones. There are the main: Olimpic zone, River Zone, the Central Zone. People all over the world want to go to this wonderful place!
Albert Hall
Albert Hall The Royal Albert Hall is a concert hall. It was opened by Queen Victoria 29, March, 1871, to memorialize (увековечить память) of her dead husband, Prince Albert. Each year it hosts more than 350 evenings including classical concerts, rock and pop, ballet and opera, sports, award ceremonies, school and community days, charity performances and banquets. First, the Hall was originally supposed to have been called The Central Hall of Arts and Sciences, but the name was changed by Queen Victoria to Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences
