Switch Expert™ Overview Switch Expert ™ (SE) currently deployed at 80% percent of the INSIGHT-100 community is a PBX network management tool used by on-site personnel to perform their duties in a timely manner. Fault Configuration Accounting SE follows the Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security (FCAPS) model and provides on-site personnel with a time savings tool that provides point and click access to compiled PBX system data. Fault Module: This module processes all system events and alarms produced by the switching system. This module also incorporates a notification process that notifies technicians of system problems. Configuration Module: This module allows privileged users with command line access Performance Security with integrated VB scripting through Switch Expert via an AES 128 encrypted connection. Accounting Module: This module provides ad-hoc Call Detail Recording (CDR) queries and features call costing via assignable billing cost codes. Performance Module: This module processes raw switch data 24 x 7 in half-hour increments and is used to produce meaningful switch performance reports to include short and long ACD, Attendant Consoles, Trunk utilization and Quality of Server reports. Security Module: This module provides toll fraud detection and allows security personnel to perform security audits on system users. Parent/Child - Configuration The Parent/Child configuration enables the SE children to relay locally processed Call Detail Records (CDR), Traffic and System Events to its parent. If network connectivity is lost between the SE parent and child, the child will automatically operate in a fully functional standalone server mode until the network resources are restored.
