RAN Database: Recovery Aceh Nias Database What is RAN Database? • RAN Database is a system for collecting, tracking, analyzing and displaying project and funding information. Who will use it? • NGOs, donors, BRR, local government, media and the public will have access to RAN Database and to paper based reports. How will RAN Database benefit the reconstruction effort? • RAN Database will provide up to date, transparent and accountable information on the recovery process in Aceh and Nias. • RAN Database will be used by BRR to coordinate more effectively, pinpoint gaps and overlaps in the recovery process and resolve bottlenecks and issues. • RAN Database will enable all organisations to plan and coordinate their projects with other actors working in the same sectors and locations. 1
RAN Database: reporting requirements Must ensure that entire project portfolio is represented accurately Primary Responsibility for completing project reporting and submitting concept notes Must ensure that all their projects accurately reflect their role Donor(s) Partners Communication between all actors involved in projects is crucial Second Level Partners / Contractors 2

RAN Database: outreach campaign What is the Outreach Campaign? • BRR have created an outreach team to focus on helping NGOs and Donors complete the progress reporting. How will this help? • Fully trained single point of contact for each organisation who organisations can visit / phone / email with queries and problems. • Drop-in Centre at BRR in Banda Aceh open Monday to Friday 9 -5. • Regional presentations and contact points to facilitate organisations not based in Banda Aceh (e. g. Nias, Calang, Meulaboh, Singkil, Lhoksemawe, Takengon). • Feedback on progress both internally (Sector Deputies) and externally (working groups) 4

Upaya Optimalisasi RAN database sebagai Sistem Monitoring v BRR bersama NGO telah menyepakati RAN sebagai database dalam pelaporan proyek v Operation Centre BRR selalu mensosialisasikan RAN database (menghubungi organisasi baik melalui email, telepon, sms gateway, tatap muka dan training-training untuk mendaftarkan dan melaporkan kemajuan proyek On maupun Off Budget) v Peningkatan partisipasi Pemerintah maupun Non Pemerintah dalam mensosialisasikan RAN database kepada organisasi yang mengimplementasikan proyek di NAD-Nias serta menjadikan RAN database sebagai salah satu alat pengambilan keputusan 13
