MALCOLM ROOT’S
Malcolm was born in Colchester, Essex in 1950 and has lived in Halstead ever since. He left school at the age of 16 years and trained as a printing apprentice with a view to a career in design and typography. He left the printing trade in 1981 to become a full time artist. Malcolm's greatest interest is mid twentieth century transport and its impact on the ordinary person. He regularly has commisions for calendars, collector's plates and much private work.
GRESLEY B 17 CLASS LOCOMOTIVE 2859 'EAST ANGIAN' IS SEEN ON BETHNAL GREEN BANK, EAST LONDON, WORKING THE LAST DOWN TRAIN PRIOR TO THE OUTBREAK OF WORLD WAR II. THE LOCOMOTIVE WAS ONE OF TWO B 17 4 -6 -0 S STREAMLINED FOR THIS SERVICE.
