QUALITY ASSURANCE STAGES DUNICOP I. PHASE Till year 2006 (Beginnings of quality assurance) Turning point in quality assurance system at University of Osijek – Project „Establishment of a quality improvement system of education at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek". • Implementation of the project „Establishment of a quality improvement system of education at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek". • II. PHASE From 2006 till 2012 (Establishing of quality assurance system) Establishment of Quality Assurance units at the University level (Committee for improvement and quality assurance, Quality Assurance office, Quality Assurance advisor) and at the constituents level (Commissions for the improvement and quality assurance and Quality Assurance offices). • Documents that regulate quality assurance are defined (The Regulation on the organization and operation of a quality assurance system at the University). • From 2006 till today the scope of quality assurance activities increased, therefore there was a need for quality assurance independence from the University management. • UNIOS Q

QUALITY ASSURANCE STAGES DUNICOP UNIOSQ III. PHASE From 2012…. (Upgrated quality assurance system) Upgrated system is defined by Guality Manual and by establishing Quality Assurance Center (till then – Quality Assurance Office). • The upgrated system is based on ESG Standards and guidelines and is structured according to ISO 9001: 2008 standards regarding educational system, science activities and business procedures.

Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek needs ISO 9001: 2008 As a tool to improve Universities educational system, science activities and business procedures In order to have a quality assurance system that controls quality of services (meaning quality of services that University provides for its users – students) To improve quality assurence system by having insight into things that need to be changed

DUNICOP QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM BASED ON ISO 9001 First steps towards implementing ISO 9001: 2008 • Informing University management on ISO 9001: 2008 standards • Preparing documentation that describes quality assurance system according to ISO 9001: 2008 standards • Implementing documents • Checking the effectiveness of quality assurance system, identifying disadvantages and initiating corrective measures to eliminate identified disadvantages

DUNICOP QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM BASED ON ISO 9001 What we have done (Year 2012) √ Informed University management on ISO 9001: 2008 standards – Seminar regarding ISO 9001: 2008 requirements (April 25 th, 2012) √ Prepared documentation that describes quality assurance system according to ISO 9001: 2008 standards Quality manual - basic document that describes and defines quality assurance system (valid since September 3 rd, 2012 - first edition) Quality assurance system procedures – 20 procedures (valid since September 3 rd, 2012)

QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM BASED ON ISO 9001 DUNICOP √ We checked the effectiveness of established system (Internal audit – September 25 th, 2012) → eliminated identified disadvantages → prepared for the Certification audit (October 2 nd, 2012) AUDITORS COMMENT S - Documentation on quality assurance system is very well ranked (Quality manual, procedures) - Compliments on Quality manual - Established quality assurance system in great amount complies with ISO 9001: 2008 standards as well as with Quality manual regulations (approximately 90%) - Quality assurance system at the Univesity is evaluated as effective
