Communications System Rebanding v County 800 MHz Rebanding Ø Requires retuning of channels in the entire radio system ü Disruption to system – reduced resources during retuning Ø Rebanding costs are paid by Sprint Nextel ü Rebanding costs estimated at $7. 1 M Ø The County must complete rebanding by Q 4 2009 Ø Requires reprogramming and/or replacement of ALL County mobiles and portables – Major disruption to system users Ø For rebanding, Sprint Nextel is required to provide a “comparable” system after rebanding Orange County, FL
