What’s ERIC? ERIC is a team of international students of the University of Tokyo that are hired and trained by GWP to provide writing tips and feeback on scientific English publications of UTokyo students and staff. Basically the time you can consult about a paper is 30 minutes, and you may have 2 consultations about the same paper. This means ERIC will probably not be able to go through the whole paper with you, so please be specific about the parts where you need advice or feedback. What ERIC is NOT: • ERIC is NOT a translation service. • ERIC is NOT a copy-editing service. • ERIC is NOT correcting your paper, but gives you advice and feedback so you can learn how to write better papers by yourself. • ERIC can NOT do a lot of other things. Contact: If you are in the process of writing a paper and you want some advice or feedback, you can make an appointment with ERIC via e-mail: eric. seut@gmail. com In the winter semester of 2013, the weekly office hours of ERIC are: Tuesdays 17: 00 -18: 00 and Thursdays 15: 00 -16: 00 at Room 92 D 2 on the 9 th floor, in Engineering Building 2 ERIC will probably ask you to send (a part of) the publication you are writing. 2014/10/01 Advanced Academic Writing 26
