The Kremlin • The Kremlin is a • heart of Moscow There are many historical places on its territory: Cathedral of the Assumption, the Cathedral of the Archangel and the Cathedral of The Annunciation, Tsar. Bell, and Tsar-Canon

The Spasskaya Tower • The Spasskaya Tower is the tallest tower of the Kremlin(67. 3 meters tall) It is one of the symbols of Moscow. The Kremlin clock was made in the 16 th century.

The Lenin Mausoleum • The Lenin Mausoleum is in centre of the Red Square by the Kremlin wall. It was built in 1924. At first it was made of wood, now it is built of stone, brick, marble and granite.

The State History Museum • The State History Museum was opened in 1883. It has a rich collection of documents, drawing, pictures and maps showing the country’s past. There a lot of materials about Russia’s great people in the museum.

The State Department Store (GUM) • The State Department Store (GUM) is one of the largest department stores in the country. It is an impressive buildings with a glass roof and hundreds of small shops inside.

The monument to Minin and Pozhasky • The monument to Minin and Pozhasky was built in 1818. The words on the monument say « To Citizen Minin and prince Pozharsky- from grateful Russia» Minin and Pozhasky were heroes of the people’s struggle in the Poland in 1612.

St Basil’s Cathedral • St Basil’s Cathedral was built in 1551 -1561 after the great victory over the Kazan Kingdom. The cathedral was built by the architects Barma and the Postnik. You can see nine beautiful painted cupolas and thick walls.
