The ancient Russian city of Tver is founded in 1135. Former name "Kalinin"
The city is on the Volga River. It proceeds from the West to the east and divides Tver into two equal parts
The main sight of Tver is considered the Imperial traveling palace. It was under construction 13 years. Because of frequent moving of Ekaterina from Moscow to St. Petersburg created the palace in which the empress could have a rest after the journey. From here and the name – the Imperial traveling palace
