Presents The Godhead Time-line Part 4 Compiled and Illustrated from The Scriptures & The Spirit of Prophecy June 2015
In Part 3 of this series of study on The Godhead Time-Line, we concluded that it is not the will of GOD--The Father, or of HIS Son that one soul should be loss, but that all should repent and return unto HIM by HIS Word, Whom HE has sent, to seek and to save the lost. But to repent from the death of darkness is something that we cannot do of ourselves. This is why GOD sent HIS Son--The Word and Voice of GOD, to enlighten the hearts of those, who are in darkness that they might repent and not perish. When GOD said, “Let there be Light…”, HE did not destroy those, who were in darkness by The LIGHT of HIS Glory. HE made it possible for those in darkness, to return to The Light of HIS Glory by creating by HIS Son the things of this earth, to reflect and reveal HIS Glory. But Like Adam and Eve, who were made to reveal HIS Glory, they were also led to be of darkness and death, to hide from The Voice of GOD’S Word amongst the trees of The Garden, because they were naked of Christ Robe of Light and of His Life in them.
As we have learned in Part 3 in this series of study that “…the suffering of GOD and of Christ in pain from the results of sin, or the results from the inhabitance of His Spirit rebelling against Him-The Gift of Life in them; this pain of rebellion did not begin when Christ manifested Himself to be one among men in humanity. No, the pain of losing millions of angels, who rebelled against The Gift of Life meant that they were rejecting The Life and Light of Christ, to choose death and darkness without Him, as if this choice was a superior alternative to GOD’S Word of Life in them. ” In revealing the spiritual through the physical, the children of Israel, like the followers of Satan, were led into the ways of darkness by worshipping strange gods among them, and serving them. And to repent of these things, The Scriptures revealed that…
“…they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel” (Judges 10: 16). “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53: 3 -5).
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53: 6). Through His servant David, Who received The Word of GOD, Who’s Spirit was in him; He spoke of the things He suffered because of the sin against GOD. And speaking by David He said… “Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me” (Psalms 69: 7 -9).
“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] he fought against them” (Isaiah 63: 9, 10).
Notice that when Adam and Eve sinned against GOD by being led by the adversary to rebel against HIS Word of Life and Light, they were not the only ones that suffered from the sin of transgression. In all the afflictions of man, even from Adam and Eve, GOD was afflicted, and The Angel of HIS Presence saved us in His love and in His pity to redeemed us, because He is The Lamb that was also slain to death by man’s sin of despising and rejecting Him. But like the adversary and those, who followed him in his rebellion, to vex The Holy Spirit of GOD’S Word, HE was turned to be, as their enemy, and HIS Word fought against them. Men are like sheep that have gone astray, and have turned every one to his own way. The LORD has laid upon HIS Lamb the iniquity of us all. It is by His Life, and not of our own that we have received The Grace of GOD, to repent of our sin of transgression. But the adversary, who led man into sin, he seeks to keep man from repenting from sin, to be as his servants in his service of rebellion and sin, to cause pain to GOD and HIS Son.
Many in this world remain in darkness, by not taking heed to The Light of GOD’S Word of Instruction, to lead them to repent from the darkness of death, and to set their whole hearts to return unto GOD, to walk from glory to Glory in The Light of Christ Jesus and of The Father. Although the face of the earth turns away from the light of the sun, and turns to face complete darkness, this does not happen in an instant. It is by a gradual turning away, until the face of the earth is in complete opposition, facing away from the light of the sun in darkness. As in the physical, the same takes place in the spiritual. When Eve turned away from obeying The Light of GOD’S Word of Life to her soul, she was not at first in complete opposition against GOD’S Word of Life, because she sought to defend The Word of Instruction given her by GOD. But she gradually found herself departing from The Word of Life, to think that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, which was in opposition to GOD’S Word.
When Eve accepted the lie of the adversary, who said that she shall not surely die, his words were in direct opposition to The Word of Life and Light, to be against GOD. And by accepting the fruit of his tongue, Eve lost her spiritual connection to The Life and Light of GOD’S Word, Who speaks The Truth of GOD to all. When men and women physically die with their hearts set in rejection of The Truth of The Word of Life and Light, they are sealing their condition of being permanently in opposition to The Word of Life and Light, to be against GOD. And the adversary sees them, as being the subjects of his kingdom of darkness. But just as the face of the earth gradually turns from complete darkness, to again be under the full brightness of the light of the sun, GOD by HIS Grace of probation has given to man the opportunity, to repent from being in opposition to HIM and HIS Son, of being in the kingdom of darkness, to again be in The Kingdom of The Light of His Glory. For it is written that…
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us” (1 John 1: 6 -10).
Notice that in order for us to be made clean, we must receive The Word of Life and Light in us, to overcome the darkness of death, to again walk in fellowship with GOD and HIS Son. To repent from the condition of darkness and death is something that man cannot do of himself. For since the first man sinned, the souls that have lived since that time, the majority, with the few exceptions that have entered the realm of darkness of death; they have found no way out from the condition of darkness and death, to live again upon this earth. Man have found no way out, because man is not a God, to be self-existing, to have Life in and of himself. When GOD said by HIS Word to man that, “…of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2: 17); HE was not lying by HIS Word of Truth, when HE said this. Men and angels are created beings. We can only live by GOD, WHO has given to us HIS Word of Life in HIS Son. He has The Same nature as The Father, because He has inherited all things from HIM.
And if The Son of GOD has The Same nature as The Father, in WHOM is no darkness, or death at all, then there was a problem, which caused Adam and Eve to hide from GOD, and respond only to The Voice of HIS Word, Who came unto them. The problem is this: if Adam and Eve were no longer clothed in The Light of Life of GOD’S Word, and man was in darkness and death, then by being in darkness and death, in opposition to The Light of Life, then the glory of GOD would have destroy man from HIS PRESENCE, just as darkness is destroyed when light fills a dark room. When The LORD sent HIS Word to reveal HIS Glory to man, He came to man veiling His Glory that man might not be destroyed by His Presence. In the next few slides we will learn more of this problem of sin, which keeps man from being in The Presence of GOD’S Glory. In his desire to see The Glory of The LORD, Moses testified and wrote that…
“…he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, [there is] a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. ” (Exodus 33: 18 -23).
Notice that because of sin, GOD spoke by HIS Word to man, and by HIS Word, HE said that HE will make all HIS goodness pass before him, and HIS Son said He will proclaim The Name of The LORD before Moses, to be gracious to whom He will be gracious, and show mercy on whom He will show mercy. And through The Voice of GOD’S Word--HIS Son, The LORD said to Moses that he could not see HIS Face, because no man could see HIM, and live. Notice the problem that is revealed by GOD that because of sin, no man could see HIM and live. The LORD covered Moses by HIS Hand in the clift of The Rock that when HIS Glory did pass by, he would be covered by HIS Hand from The Consuming Fire of The Glory of HIS Presence. Moses wrote and testified of What he had seen when GOD by HIS Son came upon Mount Sinai, to reveal The Transcript of HIS Character written in Stone, Which reveals HIS Glory without being destroyed. For The LORD said by HIS Word unto Moses…
“. . . Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever…” (Exodus 19: 9). “And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that [was] in the camp trembled” (Exodus 19: 16). "These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me" (Deuteronomy 5: 22).
Notice that although GOD spoke to Moses and to the children of Israel by HIS Son--The Word of GOD, Who came unto them upon The Mount in a Thick Cloud, to veil and protect them from The Consuming Glory of GOD, Which is revealed also in Him, Who is The Express Image of The Father; man was still separated from GOD and HIS Son, Who Testified that His delights were with the sons of men. When Adam and Eve were enticed by the adversary to sin, to join in his rebellion against GOD’S Law of Life, Which is revealed by HIS Word--HIS Son--The Transcript of HIS Image, they were led to break from The Law of Life because of sin, to be of the law of sin and death. This sin caused man to hide from GOD, which makes it difficult to be in fellowship with GOD and HIS Son. When GOD worked by HIS Word through Moses, to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, to be one with GOD by receiving HIS Word--HIS Testimony, Moses testified of their response to The Voice of GOD’S Word, Who was heard from the midst of The Thick Cloud on the mount. Moses said…
“The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire, (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount; )” (Deuteronomy 5: 4, 5). “And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire, ) that ye came near unto me, [even] all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. " (Deuteronomy 5: 23, 24).
“Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die. For who [is there of] all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we [have], and lived? Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear [it], and do [it]. And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken” (Deuteronomy 5: 25 -28).
Notice that even though man was in darkness because of sin, and The Word of GOD came unto the children of Israel, to reveal GOD’S Glory unto them, and they heard The Voice of The Word of GOD out of the midst of The Thick Cloud of darkness upon the mountain, which did burn with fire; the leaders of the children of Israel saw that they were able to see and hear The Voice of GOD’S Word speaking to them directly without a mediator and they lived. But because of their fear of The Voice of The Word of GOD, Who sounded like an exceedingly loud Trumpet, Moses testified to the elders that he stood between The LORD and the elders of Israel at that time, to show them The Word of The LORD. In other words, Moses was revealing to them The Word of GOD by being between, or being as a mediator between The LORD and the elders of Israel. For The Voice that they heard from The Great fire of The Thick Cloud, This was The Word of GOD, Who spoke GOD’S Words unto them. HE was speaking by HIS Son--The Word of GOD, Who is The Voice, as of a Trumpet.
But the elders said to Moses, that if they heard The Voice of The LORD their God any more, then they would die. So they said to Moses, to be their mediator, that he should go near, and hear all that The LORD their God would say unto him, and then he would come and speak unto them all that The LORD their God shall speak unto him; and they will hear it, and do it. According to what Moses was revealing to them by standing between The LORD and the children of Israel, The Word of GOD was already The Mediator between them and The LORD. It was through Him--The Word of GOD that The LORD spoke and revealed HIS Glory to them. By the elders of Israel requesting Moses to be their mediator between The LORD their God and them, Moses testified of The LORD’S response to their words, saying…
“The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the LORD said unto me, They have well [spoken that] which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him” (Deuteronomy 18: 15 -18).
Godhead Time-Line Heaven GOD The Father is LIGHT; in HIM is no darkness at all. By HIS Son, HE created all things. By HIS Son, Who is Life and Light, HE made man to be after HIS Kind, to reflect His Light. Man was made in the image of God, to reflect The Word of Life and Light in them. Earth GOD made the earth and man, GOD Promise to to reveal HIS GOD spoke to man by HIS Word veiled raise up a Glory. Prophet--a Man But man was led in a Thick Cloud of darkness. like Moses. to sin by the deception of GOD spoke to the children of Israel Satan to be by HIS Word out of the Thick separated from Cloud of darkness, and Moses stood GOD. between The LORD and the children darkness was of Israel to show them The Word of upon the face of The LORD their Mediator. the deep The children of Israel did not want to hear GOD’S Word.
Notice that The Word of The LORD their God was already speaking GOD’S Words, or HIS Testimony to the children of Israel. But they did not want to hear The Voice of GOD’S Word--their God, Who’s Voice was exceedingly loud, as a Trumpet. But Moses stood between The LORD their God, to reveal to them that The Word of The LORD was already The Mediator, Who was between The LORD and man. But His Glory was veiled in a Cloud of darkness, which was another way of revealing how He would come and dwell among them with His Glory veiled. The Word of GOD, Who is The Son of GOD--The Express Image of The Father, He was not at this time existing, as a Man--The Promised Prophet, Who would be raised up in the midst of the children of Israel, to be like unto Moses. If He did exist like unto Moses at that time, then He would not have needed to use Moses, to speak to the children of Israel, or unto Pharaoh on His behalf. In her writings, Ellen G. White wrote of The Truth and said…
“All through the pages of sacred history, where the dealings of God with His chosen people are recorded, there are burning traces of the great I AM. . In all these revelations of the divine presence, the glory of God was manifested through Christ. Not alone at the Saviour's advent, but through all the ages after the fall and the promise of redemption, "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. " Christ was the foundation and center of the sacrificial system in both the patriarchal and the Jewish age. Since the sin of our first parents, there has been no direct communication between God and man. ”
“The Father has given the world into the hands of Christ, that through His mediatorial work He may redeem man, and vindicate the authority and holiness of the law of God. All the communion between heaven and the fallen race has been through Christ. It was the Son of God that gave to our first parents the promise of redemption. It was He who revealed Himself to the patriarchs. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses understood the gospel. They looked for salvation through man's Substitute and Surety. . ” (That I Might Know Him, Page 102)
From The Promise that Christ Jesus--The Word of GOD gave to Adam and Eve, who received hope of being restored to Life and Light with GOD and The Son, they looked for salvation through man's Substitute and Surety to come and fulfilled The Promise of GOD, to redeem man from sin. When Moses spoke to the elders of Israel of The Promise Prophet of GOD, Who would be raised up from among them, to be like unto him--a mediator between man and GOD, he--Moses was the visible leader standing between the children of Israel and The Invisible Leader, Who veiled His Glory in The Thick Cloud on the mount. But at the age of one hundred and twenty years, Moses was soon to die, and he also looked for salvation through man's Substitute and Surety. Since Moses was the visible leader of the children of Israel for the Invisible Leader--The Word of GOD, Ellen G. White wrote of Moses in her writings that…
"Had not the life of Moses been marred with that one sin, in failing to give God the glory of bringing water from the rock at Kadesh, he would have entered the Promised Land, and would have been translated to heaven without seeing death. But he was not long to remain in the tomb. Christ Himself, with the angels who had buried Moses, came down from heaven to call forth the sleeping saint. Satan had exulted at his success in causing Moses to sin against God, and thus come under the dominion of death. The great adversary declared that the divine sentence--"Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Genesis 3: 19)--gave him possession of the dead.
“The power of the grave had never been broken, and all who were in the tomb he claimed as his captives, never to be released from his dark prison house. ” “For the first time Christ was about to give life to the dead. As the Prince of life and the shining ones approached the grave, Satan was alarmed for his supremacy. With his evil angels he stood to dispute an invasion of the territory that he claimed as his own. He boasted that the servant of God had become his prisoner. ”
“He declared that even Moses was not able to keep the law of God; that he had taken to himself the glory due to Jehovah--the very sin which had caused Satan's banishment from heaven--and by transgression had come under the dominion of Satan. The archtraitor reiterated the original charges that he had made against the divine government, and repeated his complaints of God's injustice toward him. ” (Patriarchs and Prophets, Page 478)
With the problem of the darkness of sin separating man from The Light of GOD’S Glory, The Father spoke to man by HIS Son, Who then veiled His Glory in a Thick Cloud on the Mount that HE might again dwell with His people. But they were still separated from Him, Who wanted to be with them. Moses, who stood between The LORD and the children of Israel, to show them The Word of GOD, Who would be like unto him, who was mediating between GOD and man; the time came when Moses could no longer mediate between The LORD and the children of Israel, because he was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. The other problem that separated man from GOD is the power of death, which is opposite to GOD’S Gift of Life in HIS Son. When Moses died, he went into that one way door of darkness and death, which had the power to keep all, who entered the grip of death, because they were not Gods. As Ellen G. White wrote, Satan was alarmed for his supremacy, when Christ came to give life again to Moses, whom he thought was in the grip of his superior power.
But his power was not superior enough to hold and keep those, who receive The Power of GOD’S Word, Who created all things, and can recreate what the adversary has sought to destroy. Before Moses died and was resurrected by The Prince of Life, he gave to the children of Israel GOD’S Promise by HIS Word that HE will raise up unto them a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto him, and HE will put HIS Words in His mouth, to speak unto them all that The LORD shall command Him to speak. The LORD did not say that HE had raised up unto them a Prophet. HE did not say HE did raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto Moses, and put HIS Words in His mouth, to speak unto them all that The LORD had command Him to speak. No. There is a difference between saying, “I will do something” in the future, and saying, “I did something” among the brethren in the past, in the time of eternity. The brethren of Moses did not live in the past of eternity, neither did Moses live before GOD made man of the dust of the ground.
The Trinitarian doctrine teaches that there were Three Divine beings, Who existed from eternity, before the world was created. This doctrine denies The Promise of GOD, to raise up a Prophet like Moses among the children of Israel, after the time of Moses. If The Promise Prophet of GOD was to be raised up from among the children of Israel after the time of Moses, to be a Man like Moses, and if He already existed, as a man like Moses from eternity, then He could not be like the brethren, to be like Moses, who at the time was of the nature of man after the fall of Adam’s sin, and not of the nature of man in the image of GOD before sin. This is not what The Scriptures teach. The Trinity doctrine is false, for if The Promised Prophet of GOD existed, as a Man before man was created, to be a Divine Being with no darkness at all in Him, then He could not dwell in the midst of men, who were fearful of seeing even The Glory of Christ Brightness shining through Moses. The Disciple John testified of Christ Jesus--The Word of GOD, and said…
“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ) full of grace and truth. ” (John 1: 10 -14).
Christ Jesus--The Son of GOD--The Word of GOD, He was in the world. But according to John’s testimony, the world knew Him not. In the time of Moses, The Word came unto His Own, whom He created and called unto Himself, to reveal His Glory through them. But the adversary continued to cause them to sin against Him, to receive Him not, by worshipping others gods that were no gods. But those, who did received Him, like Moses, He gave to them His Power, to become the sons of GOD by Him. John made it clear in his testimony that The Word of GOD became flesh. John did not say that The Word of GOD was flesh. No. It is clear that He did not exist from eternity in the form of flesh, to be as a Man. If the Trinitarian’s believe that there were Three Divine Beings, Who existed, as one GOD from eternity, and they also accept that The Word of GOD became flesh, which He was not before, to be a Man among men, then they are teaching that one of the Three Divine beings who existed as one GOD from eternity is Lucifer, who claimed also to be God in the beginning.
Christ Jesus--The Son of GOD, He was with GOD from the beginning. He clearly revealed that all things were made by GOD through Him. And like The Father, WHO is Spirit, He also is of The Father to be Spirit, because He inherited all things from His Father, to be like The Father in revealing HIS Glory. It was made clear that The Word of GOD was The Father’s delight, rejoicing always before HIM. And His delights were with the sons of men, until sin separated man from GOD, to be in the kingdom of darkness and death, which the adversary claimed, as his superior power against GOD and HIS Word, to be opposite of The Light and Life of The Son of GOD. As it was revealed before, “…The Father has given the world into the hands of Christ, that through His mediatorial work He may redeem man, and vindicate the authority and holiness of the law of God. ” To do the work that The Father gave Him to do, Christ needed to prepare the way for Himself to come, which was about 1458 years after Moses death. In writing of Christ work of dealing with the power of darkness and death, Paul wrote and said…
“…unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing [that is] not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man” (Hebrews 2: 5 -9).
Notice that a question was directed to GOD, saying "What is man, that THOU art mindful of him? or The Son of Man, that Thou visits Him? " The question is addressing both man, and The Son of Man, and is directed to GOD, in asking why is HE mindful, or why is HIS Mind fill with the thoughts of man. And why did HE visit The Son of Man? With a search for a reason why GOD was mindful of man, the question reflected on the position of man, who was made by God a little lower than the angels. And GOD by HIS Word crowned man with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of HIS Hands, when HE gave to man dominion over every living thing upon the earth. The inquirer said of GOD that HE had put all things in subjection under the feet of man, which means that there was nothing of the earth ruling over man. This focus of the mind upon man reveals the position of The Son of GOD. Through Him, HE created all living things to be in subjection under His feet.
By all things being in subjection under His feet, this means that He-The Son of GOD rules with GOD over every thing, for all things were made by Him and for Him. And by Him all things do consist. But in reflecting on the position of man, on being over every living thing, the inquirer noted that not all things were put under man. And by focusing upon man, who reveals the things of GOD by HIS Son, Who was over every living that was created by Him, yet there was something that was not yet put under Him. To make it clear what is was that was not yet under the feet of man, and also The Son of GOD, the inquirer said that they saw why Jesus was made a little lower than the angels, as The Son of Man, for the suffering of death, and crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of GOD should taste death for every man. For hundreds of years, the understanding of why The Scriptures revealed that Jesus was made a little lower than the angels has been a difficult subject for many to comprehend, because they have placed The Son of Man in eternity, before the creation of man.
By teaching that The Son of Man was in eternity, as a Member of The Trinity, this doctrine denies The Testimony of The Word of GOD. And to support the doctrine of The Trinity, many versions of The Scriptures have sought to reinterpret The Scriptures to say that Jesus Christ was not made, or created a little lower than the angels. As it was revealed, the inquirer noted that not all things were put under The Son of Man. And by understanding what it was that was not yet put under the feet of man, or of The Son of Man, then one would understand why the inquirer said, “…we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels…”. If Jesus was not made a little lower than the angels, to be The Son of Man, then He could not be one with man, who was made a little lower than the angels. And if He, as The Son of Man existed before the angels and the creation of man, then He could not be of man, to have the same problem that man had, in dealing with death, which was not yet under man’s feet.
The answer is given as to why Jesus was made a little lower than the angels. He was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, to taste death for every man. It is the power of death that was not yet under the feet of man, or of The Son of GOD, Who never tasted death, because He is Eternal Life, Which He inherited from His Father. As The Son of GOD, He is The Source of Life and Light from The Father. He veiled His Glory in a Thick Cloud of darkness on the mount before the children of Israel. And they were fearful of hearing His Voice, as a Trumpet out of the midst of The Great Fire on the mount. Yet He--Himself is The Life and Light of men. Ellen G. White understood this problem of The Son of GOD having all things under His Feet, except experiencing Himself being under the power of death, when He Himself is Eternal Life, and gives Life to all things. This is why Satan was alarmed that The Son of GOD could come and release Moses from the power of death, which he thought was superior. Ellen G. White wrote and said…
“Jesus Christ laid off His royal robe, His kingly crown, and clothed His divinity with humanity, in order to become a substitute and surety for humanity, that dying in humanity He might by his death destroy him who had the power of death. He could not have done this as God, but by coming as man Christ could die. By death He overcame death. The death of Christ bore to the death him who had the power of death, and opened the gates of the tomb for all who receive Him as their personal Saviour. ” (Lift Him Up, Page 345)
Notice that as Adam was naked of The Robe of Christ Light, and had lost The Crown of Life from Christ, He--Christ laid off His Glorious Robe of Light and His Crown of Eternal Life, to clothed His Divine nature in a robe of flesh and blood, to be Human. To understand what Christ did, we would need to comprehend The Spiritual by understanding the physical. In our daily lives, we can go to our clothes closets and select a garment to wear for that day. The clothes that is selected to wear for that day does not come to life, until we put it on, or step into the garments. And at the end of the day, when we step out of the garments, it becomes lifeless. The same thing goes for our homes, when no one lives in them. As it was revealed by Paul of Christ, “…by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. ” It is His Gift of Life in us that gives us life by Him, and not we of ourselves.
“For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me” (Hebrews 2: 10 -13).
Notice that it became Christ, for Whom are all things, and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of our salvation perfect through His sufferings, or experiencing what we suffer. For He became like us without His Garment of Glory, by giving Himself to dwell and be clothed in the garment of flesh and blood. For both He that sanctifies, and we, who are sanctified by Him being in us are all of one. And for this cause He is not ashamed to call us brethren. As The Promise Prophet of GOD, Who was raised up from among the brethren of the children of Israel, to be like unto Moses, He received The Words of The Father, WHO put HIS Words in His mouth, to speak unto men all that HE commanded Him to speak. He declare The Father's NAME unto His brethren, in the midst of the church He sang praises unto The Father. And all, who come to GOD--The Father by Him are the children that The Father has given Him.
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” (Hebrews 2: 14 -18).
Notice that in the same way that the children are partakers of flesh and blood, Christ Jesus also Himself likewise took part of the same nature of flesh and blood. The word "also" maybe small, but it reveals an important meaning, which helps us to understand The Truth of what Christ Jesus has done, to become one with us in partaking of the same nature of flesh and blood. The word “also” means “in addition”, which has a cumulative force, which means to increase something rather than deleting, or diminishing something. So in addition to giving His Gift of Life, to create invisible and visible beings in heaven and on earth, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; He gave also of Himself, to become a partaker of flesh and blood. For it was of His Breath of Life that He breathe into the garment of flesh to give Life and Light to the first man Adam. And if He gave of Himself, then He is not a third God to form a Trinity that existed from eternity. Yet, He gave of Himself, to become The Second Adam--The Son of Man, Who was already The Son of GOD.
Christ Jesus gave Himself that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver us, who through fear of death were all our lifetime subject to bondage. Notice again the words that are presented by Paul, who said that Christ Jesus, ". . . took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham. " Notice that if Christ Jesus took upon Himself, or put upon Himself the seed of Abraham, then the understanding is made clear when someone puts on a garment, to give that garment life by being within the garment. This means that Christ Jesus is Still The Son of GOD, but by putting upon Himself the nature of flesh and blood, He has acquired a different Personality, as The Son of Man. As Christ Jesus veiled His Glory in a Thick Cloud of Darkness, to be close to the children of Israel on Mount Sinai, which burned with fire, likewise He veiled His Glory in the form of flesh, to dwell among His brethren, to declare The Father’s GLORY to men.
Earth GOD made the GOD spoke to man GOD sent HIS earth and man, by HIS Word, Who Son, Who veiled to reveal HIS veiled His Glory in the Glory. a Thick Cloud of form of flesh and darkness upon blood, to be The But man was led Mount Sinai. He upon the face of was not always of The form of flesh. the deep The Father and The Son, are the only Life givers.
We will look at more evidence in Part 5 that supports from The Scripture, The Truth that The Son of GOD has two natures, which means that the natures are not both God’s. But one nature has been inherited from GOD to be The Son of GOD. And just like men make homes to dwell in, The Son of GOD made many dwelling places that are made from the dust of the ground for His Spirit of Life to dwell within to give us life. He took of the same nature of flesh and blood, to become The Son of Man. End of Part 4
