The Democratic. Republican party Founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison around 1792. It was the dominant political party in the United States from 1800 to 1824, when it split into competing factions, one of which became the modern democratic party.
Beliefs of the Democratic. Republican party The Democratic Republican party opposed the Jay treaty of 1794, and supported good relations with France before 1801. The party insisted on a strict construction of the constitution, and denounced many of Hamilton's proposals (especially the national bank) as unconstitutional. The party favored states’ rights and the primacy of yeoman farmer over bankers industrialists, merchants, and other money interests.
The Federalists party Was an American political party in the period 1792 to 1816. The federalists controlled the federal government until 1801. It was founded by Alexander Hamilton, and his supporters grew into the federalist party, which wanted a fiscally sound and strong nationalistic government and was opposed by the Democratic –republicans. .
Beliefs of the federalist party The Federalists were dominated by business men and merchants in the major cities who supported a strong national government. The party was closely linked to the modernizing, urbanizing, financial policies of Alexander Hamilton. In foreign affairs, the federalists sought good relations with Britain and a strong army and navy. In terms of style, the Federalist distrusted the public, thought the elite should be in charge, and favored national power over state power.

Republicans § § § § § Believed in strict interpretation of the constitution. The government cannot take money if not necessary. To keep family values in American society. That parents can raise their kids how they choose. That they strongly supported the free enterprise system. That runaway government spending, high taxes, and over- regulation overall negatively effects the economy. That freedom comes with responsibility You can do what you want with your property. That everyone can enjoy their rights
Democrats § Loose interpretation of the constitution. § The government can use your money anytime anywhere § American families must redesign its values based on new lifestyle concepts. § Government regulation of enterprise § The higher the taxes the better the economy § The government controls what you do with your property. § The government has the right to determine values taught to children in schools. § That some must sacrifice a potion of freedoms so that others may enjoy those same right and freedoms.
How are they different? § Democrats § Want to reduce military spending. § Want more gun control laws. § Abortion is purely the woman's decision. § The persons right to choose their sexuality § Support increase on taxes § Oppose the death penalty. § Republicans § § § Increase military spending Oppose gun control laws Abortion shouldn’t be made legal Marriage should be between two people of the opposite sex.
