Pneumatic Venous Plethysmography Understanding venous physiology Bringing venous hemodynamic testing to you.
Bilateral venous physiological study Obstruction, Incompetence, Exercise in less than 5 -10 minutes Obstruction Incompetence Function
Ven. View System Advantages • Comprehensive plethysmographic evaluation for venous obstruction, incompetence, and calf ejection fraction. • Complete bilateral evaluation time < 20 minutes. – 5 minutes explanation and pre-test set-up, – 5 -10 minutes for bilateral obstruction, incompetence, and calf ejection studies collectively, – 5 minute post test removal and print report • Once patient and cuffs are positioned- the testing is “Hands-Off”, simply follow computer prompts. • Detailed hemodynamic values, tracings, and graphs are displayed on two page report. • Examination chair can also be configured as bed. • Unobstructed access to the popliteal area.
About Ven. View • Ven. View is a non-invasive pneumatic venous plethysmography device. • The Ven. View system provides accurate quantitative studies due to a flow meter that measures air placed inside sensing cuff. • With a limb circumference measurement and automated measured sensing cuff volumes, the Ven. View system is able to calculate volume/pressure relationships. • Volume measurements are reported as ml/100 ml (individual leg volume correction)
Indications • Venous disease such as venous thrombosis, venous incompetence (deep, superficial, perforator) and poor venous calf ejection fraction may present as varicose veins, edema, stasis, and ulceration of the lower extremities. Ven. View specifically addresses each parameter of venous disease: • Deep venous thrombosis: • Venous incompetence: • Venous calf ejection fraction: outflow study dependent refill study exercise refill study
Ven. View specifically addresses each parameter of venous disease: • Deep venous thrombosis: • Venous incompetence: • Venous calf ejection fraction: Outflow Dependent Refill outflow study dependent refill study exercise refill study Exercise Function
Method: Sensing cuff inflation Sensing cuffs are inflated with air to 6 – 7 mm. Hg The amount of air is measured as it inflates the cuff which provides a pressure/volume relationship to base calculations
Outflow- phase one (looking for limited outflow / obstruction) 60 mm. Hg baseline cuff volume next slide
Outflow- phase two Normal Outflow Expelled V V > 77% Max V V Ex VV 4 sec 60 mm. Hg Release next slide Max VV
Outflow- phase two Normal Outflow > 77% Abnormal Outflow Expelled V V < 77% Max V V Ex VV 60 mm. Hg Release next slide 4 sec Max VV
Dependent Refilling Normal Patient is quickly tipped upright… Refill Rate < 5. 0 Abnormal Refill Rate > 5. 0 next slide (ml / 100 ml / min)
Exerciseankle flexes Normal 10 ankle flexes Abnormal next slide
Summary Report • • Two page report Contains values, plethysmographic tracing, and summary graph for all three studies – – – Outflow Dependent venous filling Exercise refilling
Individual Detailed Reports Outflow • Individual detailed report page that contains values, plethysmography tracing, and summary graph for all three studies – – – Outflow Dependent venous filling Exercise refilling Dependent Filling Exercise
Full Tracing • – – – • Normal Study Entire study tracing that contains: Outflow dependent refill Exercise refilling Printable in color and black and white Abnormal Study
Additional Chair Features • Examination chair can also be configured as bed. • Unobstructed access to the popliteal area for examination or duplex scanning.
