DEX 1 / 8 Configuration Statement • Development Team led by Rolls Royce • Scope is to enable the transfer of a statement of the product physical breakdown structure as designed, as built or as planned • WSA has conducted an assessment of DEX 1 against an existing automated exchange between the Submarine Design Definition System (SDD) and Devonport Dockyard’s Vessel Materiel Planning System (VMP) © LSC Group 2003

DEX 1 / 8 Configuration Statement • Assessment Result : • 100% of the requirement was contained within the AP 239 Data Model • 95% of the requirement was contained within the scope of DEX 1 as then drafted • Way ahead : • Investigate applicability of DEX 8 to exchange Product_as_Individual information • Build a DEX 8 import/export interface into SDD © LSC Group 2003

DEX 4 Work Request • Development Team led by LSC Group • Scope is to enable the transfer of a Work Package containing the details of the required tasks for a given Support Period • The Work Package file, as generated by the new WSA Maintenance Management System (UMMS) for export to the Dockyards has provided a target data set to define the exchange scope. © LSC Group 2003

DEX 4 Work Request Work has included : • Mapping the UMMS data set to the AP 239 data model • Developing an XML based architecture for the exchange • Building an XSLT automated data transformation capability • Capability built into UMMS for its roll-out in September 2003 © LSC Group 2003
