Arbat is by right called the main street of Moscow. And it’s not because it is the largest metropolitan or central thoroughfare. Not at all. The Muscovites value its unique charm created by the architectural pieces of past eras, its freedom and romance praised by the street artists and musicians, its unique spirit of old Moscow noble and intelligent.

Tverskoy Boulevard Bathing in green lime trees, Tverskoy Boulevard, is the elder among Moscow boulevards: it was the first to be created in the summer of 1796 on the site of a ten-meter wall of the White City. However, historically the first Moscow boulevard appeared only twenty years later, under Paul I. Tverskoy Boulevard is located in the heart of Moscow and is a renowned and prestigious spot in the capital.

Bolshoi Theater In downtown Moscow on a beautiful square there is the main temple of Russia's culture - the Bolshoi Theater. The pride of all Russia - Bolshoi Theater - is one of the world’s biggest opera and ballet theaters. You can only enjoy its immortal creations and to admire its magnificent building, which is also an outstanding example of Russian architecture. Take for instance the fact that there are two dates of birth of the Bolshoi Theater - March 1776 and January 1825.

Kitai Gorod is one of the oldest historical parts of Moscow, which lies near the Red Square. The history of its roots goes back to the 16 th century, when the authorities decided to surround the trading area, the Great Posad, of the capital with a wall. It was lying next to the Kremlin, separated from it by the wide Red Square. The new wall was to protect the townsmen from fire and military raids.

Vasilevsky Spusk is the territory of the slope at St. Basil's Cathedral, which stretches along the walls of the Kremlin down to the embankment of the Moskva River. It was used for various events in the late 1980 s, when the Red Square remained closed for such. There, the most ambitious entertainments in the capital, in particular, concerts of world stars touring in Moscow, take place.

Manege Square The building of the Manege gave the name to the square on which it is located. It became known as the Manege Square. The square is decorated with flowerbeds, fountains with sculptures depicting characters of Russian folk tales. Nearby is the Alexander Garden, the Kremlin, and the Russian State Library. Manege Square was first mentioned in the end of the 15 th century although it was finally shaped in 1932 -1938.

Red Square is located in front of the eastern wall of the Kremlin and is bounded on three sides by other buildings: the State Historical Museum, the GUM department store and St. Basil's Cathedral. For centuries the Red Square, as the central square of the country has witnessed important historical events in the life of the city and country, witnessed the change of generations, centuries and eras.

Neskuchniy Garden, the oldest park in Moscow, is now a part of the Central Park of Culture. It lies along the Moskva River and covers the area of 100 hectares. The garden was created by the decree of Nicholas I in 1847 on the land belonging to three mansions on the banks of the Moskva River - Golitsyn, Demidov and Trubetskoy. By the way, the garden inherited its name from the estate of Prince Trubetskoy called “Neskuchnoye”.

Poklonnaya Hill The most famous place at the entrance to Moscow from the west, of course, is Poklonnaya (Bow) Hill, a notable place, connected with the various historical events in Russia. Once, this gently sloping hill was located far outside Moscow. It was on Poklonnaya Hill that Napoleon vainly waited for the keys to Moscow; it was there that the soldiers went to the front to defend the Motherland during WWII.
