PICPA LAGUNA CHAPTER 3 rd Quarter Report January-March, 2012

Regional Council Meeting Members of the Council had their 7 th Council Meeting at the De La Salle Dasmariñas, Cavite. Members of the council, headed by Sr. Regional Director Paciencia B. Mendoza held their 8 th Regional Council Meeting g at Casa Divina, San Jose, Antipolo Rizal Members of the council, headed by Sr. Regional Director Paciencia B. Mendoza had the 9 th Regional Council Meeting at Clyden Josh Restaurant, San Pablo City, which started with an opening prayer. It was followed by the discussion of the up-coming “Training the Trainers” seminar. They discussed also about the PICPA- reaching out activities, wherein the strong/big chapters will help the small/weak chapters, by way of giving them support in conducting a seminar.

Regular Board Meeting The Board of Directors in its 7 th Regular Monthly Meeting at Max’s Restaurant, Pavilion, Biñan, Laguna. They discussed about the upcoming seminars on Ethics, SSS and Pagibig Updates, Withholding Taxes & Tax Updates, Full PFRS and the Taxpayers’ Rights & Remedies. They discussed also the role of each board member during the seminar. The 8 th Regular Monthly Meeting of the Laguna Chapter was held at Max’s Restaurant, Biñan City. They discussed about the up-coming seminars on Ethics, SSS and Pag-ibig Updates, Taxpayers’ Rights & Remedies, Full PFRS and up-coming Quiz Bowl.

Special Meeting : January 17, 2012 The BOAs and BODs had their special meeting at Max’s Restaurant, Sta. Rosa Complex, Balibago, Sta Rosa City. They discussed about the functions of each members in the upcoming seminar on Withholding Taxes & Tax Updates. The Board also celebrated the 54 th birthday of Ms. Imelda M. Paclibar, Board of Adviser.

Social Involvement February 13 – Tax Campaign Kick-Off of RR-9 Members of the Board, headed by PICPA Laguna Chapter President Warlito M. Carrillo joined the Tax Campaign kick-off with Revenue Region-9 at SM San Pablo City The PICPA Laguna Chapter President Warlito M. Carrillo also signed a MOA to help the BIR to inform the taxpayers to pay the right taxes. In this activity , the BIR launched theme “ I Love Philippines, I Pay Taxes”

Social Involvement February 13 – Tax Campaign Kick-Off of RDO-057 PICPA Laguna Chapter headed by Mr. Warlito M. Carrillo, together with his board, participated the RDO 057 Tax Campaign Kick-off which was held at last March 13, 2012 at St. Michael College of Laguna, Biñan City

Seminars/Workshops Seminar on Withholding Taxes and Tax Updates By: Atty. Emelita Ruado-Abo The new Regional Director of RR-9 San Pablo City, Mr. Jose N. Tan made the opening remarks during the seminar on Withholding Taxes & Tax updates. He discussed the Plans & Objectives of RR-9 for the year 2012. More than a hundred participants listened to Atty. Emelita Ruado-Abo, resource speaker from BIR Lipa City, as she discussed the tax updates, various tax laws, memorandums and circulars.

Seminars/Workshops Seminar on Withholding Taxes and Tax Updates By: Mr. Arnel R. Cosinas, (resource afternoon session) discussed the particularly the various Revenue Orders (RMO) and Revenue Circulars (RMC). speaker in the tax updates, Memorandum The participants and Board of Advisers and Directors of PICPA Laguna Chapter gladly had the photo off immediately after the whole day seminar.

Seminars/Workshops Ethics, Pag-ibig and SSS Updates Resource speaker Atty. Eranio L. Punsalan talks about Ethics , which was participated by almost 35 participants. Resource speaker Ms. Ma. Isabel P. Veluya of Pag-ibig (Makati City Office) discussed about the Pag-Ibig Updates , while the participants listened attentively. Mr. Antonio V. Soriano, SSS Branch Head of SSS Biñan City, talks about the SSS updates

Seminars/Workshops SEC/FULL PFRS UPDATES By: Mr. Dexter F. Ortega Before the start of the seminar proper, the PICPA Laguna chapter, Warlito M. Carrillo delivered his opening message. In his opening remarks, he thanked also the participants especially those members of the Laguna chapter for their unwavering and continuous support to the seminars and activities of the chapter. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Dexter F. Ortega. In the morning session he discussed the SEC updates while Full PFRS in the afternoon. Other Activities : 67 TH Binan City Liberation Day Members of the Laguna Chapter headed by President Warlito M. Carrillo joined the 67 th Biñan Liberation Day which was held at Old Biñan City Hall. Other Activities : Annual Accounting Quiz Bowl-February 17, 2012 University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (Chapter Level) Before the start of the Quiz bowl , Warlito M. Carrillo, Chapter President and Susana A. Mendiola, Regional Sectoral Representative for Education have their photo-off together with the JPIA of University of Perpetual Help System Laguna. Contestants in the Level I (representing 3 rd year students) with their Quiz Master Ms. Imelda L. Anderson assisted by Ms. Eloisa E. Israel and Ms. Zenaida C. Algaba, (chairperson of the Quiz Bowl). Members of the board, participants from different competing schools (Malayan Colleges, Laguna; Pamantasan ng Cabuyao; St. Louie's Anne College; PUP, Sta. Rosa ; SPCBA and UPHSL), JPIAs and Mentors had their photo-off before the activity has been finally concluded.

Other Activities : Annual Accounting Quiz Bowl-Region Level February 27, 2012 PICPA Laguna Chapter garnered the 2 nd runner up from the Southern Tagalog Region Annual Accounting Quiz Bowl. (Oriental Mindoro and Cavite Chapter was the champion and 1 st runner-up respectively).
