The aim of the paper is the study of modern English economic terminology and definition of the notion "discourse" (particularly "economic discourse") in the linguistic context, analysis and identification of the basic principles of terminology formation in economic discourse. The subject of the study is processes occurring within the study of sublanguages and features of the terminology in the English economic discourse. The object of the study in this paper is the concept of "discourse", "economic discourse", terms formation and processes in the economic discourse, as well as credit and banking terms

TERM is defined by the following descriptive (functional) approach as the name of a special unit of science, technology, artificially created or taken from natural language, which expresses the concepts that correlate with other names in the economic field, forming terminological system with them. economic discourse economic term

• Discourse is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. • The term “discourse” is used in different sciences: in philosophy, economics, social psychology, literary criticism, communication theory, and in various areas of linguistics. • Discourse is a complex communicative event, a significant component of socio-cultural interaction, the characteristics of which are interests, goals and styles.

An economic term is an artificially created or taken from natural language word or expression which adequately reflects the concept of professional and scientific-andtheoretical work of experts in the field of economics and business, are in a relationship and interaction with other terms.

Economic discourse is a complex communicative phenomenon, which is associated with extralinguistic features of the act of communication, which has the ability to build the linguistic identity of economist and to understand discourses of different types according to communicative intent.

PREFIX is defined as the total official part of the words, that perform derivation function in one of the acts of derivation, changes its semantic structure in the process of language development and participates in the formation of a number of new words and terms.
