The Series - Ginetta G 50 Cup Ginetta’s G 50 sports car is a The Series - Ginetta G 50 Cup Ginetta’s G 50 sports car is a cost-effective, versatile introduction to real GT racing and a thrill to drive. The one-make Ginetta G 50 Championship offers incredible GT racing but with modest updates, the car may race in multi-marque series. The G 50 was designed in-house by a team of experts with a vast array of motorsport experience between them. Named the ‘G 50’, it was released in 2008 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Ginetta. Its inspiration is based upon traditional racing car methods but packaged in a new way. The engineering is simple, the weight distribution has been carefully calculated and everybody who has driven one has emerged from the cockpit smiling! The G 50 and its one-make GT Championship are aimed at bridging the gap between single-make sports car racing such as the current Ginetta G 20 Championship and GT cars like the GT 4 Championship, GT 3 and beyond. Furthermore, available updates allow for competition in higher-level series such as British GT, Britcar, Spanish GT and Belcar with simple modifications to comply with regulations. Reliability was tested to the maximum with two finishes at a Silverstone 24 -hour event in 2008 just nine months after production began! High power, light-weight, slick tyres and a strong chassis tested beyond GT 2 minimum standards are the ideal formula for cost effective real GT racing.
