Park History • In 2000, the City of Cedar Rapids Parks Department brought together Park History • In 2000, the City of Cedar Rapids Parks Department brought together a group of citizens interested in off leash areas. • K 9 COLA was founded.

Park History • K 9 COLA worked with the city to plan an OLA. Park History • K 9 COLA worked with the city to plan an OLA. • K 9 COLA raised 50% of original cost of park. • Members of K 9 COLA also provided a tremendous amount of ‘sweat equity’. • Cheyenne Park OLA opened on 11/17/2001.

K 9 COLA Role K 9 COLA, a non-profit organization, continues to play a K 9 COLA Role K 9 COLA, a non-profit organization, continues to play a role in supporting the Cheyenne Park OLA. • Educates the public about safe and effective park use. • Continues raising funds and providing manpower, to make park improvements. • Works directly with the Parks Department.
