EXPECTATIONS OF THE RM STAFF n We want each student to graduate in 4 years. n We want students to develop goals. n We want each student to take the most appropriate academic courses possible. n Help students grow and become responsible and independent young adults upon graduation.

REACHING GOALS n To become responsible, students need to be given responsibility. n To become independent, students need to experience independence. n Develop a partnership n Parents need to stay informed

TOOLS PARENTS NEED TO STAY INFORMED n Review the material available to you n Parent handbook n Athletic handbook n Buy a directory n Read the material we send home n Become familiar with the MCPS and RM web pages

TOOLS CONTINUED n Join the RM listserv. n Have the morning announcements sent to your email. n Establish an Edline account and check it regularly.

TOOLS CONTINUED n Become familiar with the calendar. n Become familiar with testing. n Contact RM staff as needed.

KNOW THE ATTENDANCE POLICY n Notes must be delivered to the attendance office within 3 days. n The note must include n Student’s legal name and grade n Student’s ID# n Reason for the absence n Loss of credit (LC) 5 unexcused absences
