Present Tense

We use the Present Tense for : Ø Facts (things that always true) Ø For example: 1. The sun rises in the morning. 2. It is cold in winter. 3. My sister is a girl.

We use the Present Tense for : Ø Habits (things people do every day) Ø For example: 1. I eat breakfast everyday. 2. Mary goes to school with Susan every morning. 3. They visit their grandmother every Sunday.

We use the Present Tense for : Ø Orders / instructions / advice / requests Ø For example: 1. Don’t run in the corridor. 2. Bring your own lunch tomorrow. 3. Please speak louder.

Form *** The tense has only one word. ***He / she / it / third person singular----+ s / es / ies For example: 1. He plays football everyday. 2. She carries the school bag for her brother. 3. Peter goes to school with Tom every morning.

Add ‘s’ , ‘es’ or ‘ies’ to the following verbs: 1. Fly 2. Buy 3. Cry 4. Give 5. Do 6. sleep

Answer Add ‘s’ , ‘es’ or ‘ies’ to the following verbs: 1. Fly Flies 2. Buys 3. Cry Cries 4. Gives 5. Do Does 6. Sleep sleeps

Form • I / you / we / they / plural (May and Joyce) ----- no change • For example : 1. I eat apple everyday. 2. We have dictation once a week. 3. They are good friends.
