OVERVIEW The Global Graduate Program’s vision is to deliver a program that attracts and retains top graduates from around the world, increasing the quality, diversity and sustainability of our technical, functional and leadership pipelines. Establishing a graduate program in Russia will enable successful implementation of Orica’s growth strategy in emerging markets. To ensure a fit for purpose program, meeting regional needs, an intake of 4 Technical Services engineers will be hired in 2015. 2 © Orica Limited Group
RUSSIA PROGRAM FRAMEWORK Element Descriptor Program Length rd 2 Years of Graduate rotations and then placed into a permanent role in the 3 year. Technical Services Stream The Technical Services graduates will develops drill and blast knowledge. Graduates will work with explosives, on-bench and on projects providing blast design and blast based services to customers. Rotations will be across different markets and geographies with the opportunity to see a broad range of mining methods, sites and projects. Rotations 2 x 12 month rotations – Rotations will be managed by the local business with support from the Global Lead Graduate Post rotation presentations Graduates prepare and present and assessed presentation near the end of each rotation which is presented to a group of selected Orica Managers. This covers; reflection of learning from the rotation, their personal brand, the value they’ve contributed, Orica’s strategy and ideas for the company moving forward. Graduate workshops (2 days per year) Year 1: Understanding self & the business Year 2: Leading with Impact Year 3: Career Development Management and roil out of workshops to be agreed Technical/Functional learning Framework The Line Manager is responsible for the graduates learning within each job role. The Framework is attached at the end of this pack. Mentor Program All graduates are matched with a Mentors are then carefully selected and trained. Mentors and Mentee’s are matched according to the Mentor’s strengths and Mentee’s development gaps. We strive to achieve as many crossbusiness mentoring relationships as possible to ensure our graduates receive a holistic, whole company learning experience. Buddy Program First year graduates are matched with an existing graduate to act as their buddy. Communication begins after recruitment and the relationship is maintained right throughout the three year program. 3 © Orica Limited Group
ATTRACTION & APPLICATIONS Attraction: To position Orica for success Orica is partnering with Saint Petersburg University of Mines. The university is the leading mining education bodies in Russia and throughout Europe and has over 16, 000 students. To attract students to make an application a number of different initiatives will be implemented on campus including: • Orica Presentations to targeted students • Running Orica branded training and development sessions • Establishing a centre of training and development Applications: Students will be able to make an application to the program via Orica’s online application system “Page.
