NCJLA Certified Coaches • Recommended by 2011 summer workshop group, and supported by attendees and the board • New for 2013 - PCA is now one and done • Coach certification data submitted with rosters, due by Feb. 10 • 2011 – Either by club admin or NCJLA website • 2012 – All club-based processing • Coaches must wear lanyards with NCJLA Certified Coach card visible at every game, officials will verify
NCJLA Certified Coach Requirements • Annually: • Background check (depending on service used) • US Lacrosse membership • One and done: • PCA (online or in-person) • US Lacrosse Level 1 Online • Coaches Code of Conduct Signed Yellow Bar = US Lacrosse Certification Indicating one additional requirement met, the in-person clinic

Team Registration • Opens October 8 • Include all U 9 teams this year • Include coaches contact info, if available • Closes December 9 • For both boys and girls teams Eliminated step-down refunds for teams dropping after close of registration. After Dec. 9, no refund.
Rosters 2013 • Clubs with LA can now easily upload to NCJLA site • Due February 10, 2012 – Second submission OK for late jersey numbers, and additional players trickling in • No Roster = No Game • U 9 Divisions – New for 2013: • Max on roster is 18 players • Register each true team (in December) • All U 9 games entered on NCJLA website
Season Start and End Dates • • • Feb 22 – Boys season begins Mar 2 & 3 – Girls Play Day Mar 9 – Girls season begins See website for season end dates by division All wrap up before Memorial Day weekend
Team Scholarship Program • $12, 000 in scholarship funds provide: • 90% waiver on team reg fees • 50% officials fees per game • Priority to teams: • Drawing players from underserved/low-income communities • From a new NCJLA club • Key dates: • Application posted October 1 • Due November 2 • Notifications Mid November
Player Aid Program • Many Thanks to the BAYS Foundation! • $10, 000 for matching need-based financial aid program U 15 and below • NCJLA Kicks in for High School • $3, 000 same program, but for high school players • Key Dates: • Applications available October 1 • Due December 3 • Notification mid-December
NCJLA Grants • $7, 500 Available to Clubs for Equipment • Field equipment - goals, safety nets, table supplies • Player equipment grants • Key Dates: • Applications available October 1 • Due December 3 • Notification mid-December
SF Lacrosse Fall Classic BAYS Foundation: Fourth Year Bringing Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse to California #9 Lehigh University Mountain Hawks vs #18 Ohio State University Buckeyes October 21, 2012 Kezar Stadium SF
BAYS Foundation • Tom Mistele and two fellow LAX-rats • Created foundation to raise money for underserved youth • Sponsor of the San Francisco Fall Lacrosse Classic • Inspire youth lacrosse players by watching high level D 1 men's lacrosse • Entice D 1 players to relocate to Bay Area to coach youth • SF Classic • Non-profit event run by volunteers • All proceeds (after event expenses) go to BAYS Foundation grantees • Not sustainable without sponsorships, tickets sales and volunteers
BAYS Foundation • Harvard, Johns Hopkins, University of Denver, Notre Dame, Brown, UNC, Lehigh & Ohio • $225, 000 in grants in first three years: • America SCORES Bay Area; East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring (EPATT); Girls on the Run Bay Area; Lacrosse for LIFE; Oakland Community Pools Project; Real Options for City Kids (ROCK); and KEEN San Francisco. • Now $10, 000 grant to NCJLA - financial aid to boys and girls who would be otherwise unable to participate in youth lacrosse.
