GLOSSARY OF TERMS n Cap Code n n n n n A seven digit number that allows the transmitter and paging receiver to communicate. example: Tx ID=0100000 Pager ID = 1. Cap Code = 0100008. Each Pager is separated by a multiple of eight. ( 8, 16, 24 etc. ) Group Call - is a logical pager number placed in all pagers as a group. DTMF – Dual Tone Multiple Frequency - Each key on the telephone generates two tones, a high and low. Line Port – A paging Transmitter that connects to the C/O (central office) line input instead of a standard telephone line. The Line Port model supplies the 48 Volts DC required for communications. Flash EEPROM – Write-able Electrically Programmable Read Only Memory. Used in the VSP units. Serially Programmable – The user has the ability to use the software provided to program all functions and parameters of a specific unit. Range Study – A process used to determine the coverage area of an On-Site paging transmitter.
