Leslie Stone The basic family structure has changed, the role of each family member has changed and the society that surrounds the family has change. When we attempt to entice a young man to join, we are asking him to carve out time from his hurried schedule to spend with us. The work, the house and driving the children to all of their pastimes puts an incredible premium on time. Time is the one-thing today's families cannot find or buy enough of. Family involvement is easier to adjust to when you realize why it is so important. He is not going to join without the rest of the family unit giving their blessing. The family must feel comfortable with us and in general support of the organization before we start to steal him away. We accomplish this by involving the family in Lodge sponsored functions and events. If we, as a Lodge, create and sponsor events through the Lodge, which allow a Mason, his wife and his children to be together, to receive some educational point and to be entertained and have fun, we will be giving them the one thing they crave the most, QUALITY TIME TOGETHER.
