OAS and IADB Strategic Partnership
Background § The IADB is an entity of the Organization under Article 53 of the OAS Charter and the Statutes of the Inter-American Defense Board (AG/RES. 1(XXXII -E/06)) §The OAS and IADB shares common objectives under the OAS Charter §The purpose of the IADB is to provide the OAS and its member states with technical and educational advice and consultancy services.
Purpose § Strengthening the Relationship § Facilitate the activities of the IADB regarding its activities and interactions with OAS organs. § Promote the interaction and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. § Share facilities and other assets for a more effective and efficient use of scarce resources
Plan § The OAS will provide three offices and four cubicles, in total. This includes the currently IADB assigned office and cubicle on the 8 th floor § The OAS will provide several alternatives of meetings rooms (free of charge Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5: 30 pm) § The OAS will gradually increment the financing for the maintenance of the building Casa del Soldado, especially maintenance contracts of mechanical equipments (AC and heating devices)
Plan § The IADB will provide the 4 th floor of the Casa del Soldado for OAS units to occupy § The OAS will provide cleaning and messenger services in the Casa del Soldado

Maintenance § Currently Financed by IADB § Cleaning $32, 400 per year § Elevator maintenance $1, 700 per year § AC/heating maintenance $6, 000 per year § In the future the OAS will absorb these costs § In addition, the OAS will contract maintenance for AC/heating devices
