NUFACT 14 o At SPC meeting this Wednesday, it was approved to hold NUFACT 2014 and INSS 2014 in Scotland − − NUFACT 14 at University of Glasgow, 25 -30 August 2014 INSS 2014 at St Andrews, 11 -22 August 2014 o SPC chose new name: International Workshop on Neutrino Factories and Future Neutrino Beam Facilities (NUFACT 2014) o University of Glasgow founded 1451: 4 th oldest in English speaking world. Glasgow o o The Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow from 23 July to 3 August 2014 To avoid overlap with Commonwealth Games, the dates are a bit later than in previous years: 25 -30 August 2014 George Square Kelvingrove Museum Clyde Auditorium (Armadillo) Riverside Museum 3

Venue o The venue is the Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre complex at the University of Glasgow, all session in same building: − − − 1 A The Square Restaurant Large lecture theatre: capacity 281 people Four seminar rooms: capacity 44 people – can link two of them for a larger room of 88 people Teas and coffees in foyer; lunch at university restaurant (1 A The Square), 5 min walk Western Infirmary Lecture Theatres 4

Accommodation o A variety of accommodation has already been provisionally booked: − − − o 50 rooms at the Queen Margaret Hall of residence – self catered ensuite bedrooms with common kitchen areas (£ 37. 50 /night), 25 min walk from university across botanic gardens Another 80 rooms booked in a variety of local hotels (and one in centre of town) in a variety of price ranges (from £ 45 p. n. to £ 105 p. n. ) There is plenty of accommodation in the West End of Glasgow that you may find on your own Looking at social programme as well, including popular “whisky tasting” session Queen Margaret Hall Botanic Gardens 5

International Neutrino Summer School o o International Neutrino Summer School (INSS) at St Andrews (1. 5 hours from Glasgow) from 11 -22 August 2014. Summer School with support from SUSSP and SUPA § § SUSSP: Scottish Universities Summer Schools in Physics, which have been running since 1960 (ie.
