University History • 19 August, 1950 – begin the construction of the Novosibirsk Institute of Electrical Engineering (NETI); • 1 September, 1953 – first teaching classes at NETI. • 1954 – built the first hostel; • 1960 – built the first teaching block of the NETI; • April, 1992 – NETI gained its status of a technical university and renamed to NSTU;
