Note taking In order to get the most from your lessons, you must develop Note taking In order to get the most from your lessons, you must develop a note-taking method that works for you. You can do this by looking at different ways of note-taking and deciding which one is suitable for your learning style. Work on a method that will gradually help you to structure and organise your notes to make your note-taking speed and comprehension better. Start each lecture on a new page; date and number each page. Write on one side of the paper only. You can set them out side-by-side for easier reviewing when studying for an exam. Leave blank spaces. This allows you to add comments or note questions later. Make your notes as brief as possible. Develop a system of abbreviations and symbols you can use wherever possible. Note all unfamiliar vocabulary or concepts you don't understand. This reminds you to look them up later.

In honour of NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory’s fifth anniversary, NASA released a spectacular five -year time-lapse of the sun. Highlights include clouds of solar material being hurled into space and loops hovering in the atmosphere, which is known as the corona. Different colours represent different wavelengths of extreme ultraviolet light, ultraviolet light and visible light which in turn correspond to solar material at different temperatures. Additionally, SDO returns solar magnetic field data that help scientists study solar activity. The observatory aims to improve our understanding of the sun's energy and its effects on Earth and near-Earth space. For this footage, the team captured one frame of the sun every eight hours from June 2010 to February 8 th 2015. Difficult words: captivating (very interesting), observatory (a room/building where scientists watch something), anniversary (the date something happened in the year before), highlight (an interesting part), wavelength (the distance between two energy waves), ultraviolet light (light we cannot see), spectacular (impressive/amazing), time-lapse (video which is created by putting many photos together), hurl (to throw), hover (to remain in one place in space), corona (the circle of light around the sun), additionally (also), magnetic field (the area around magnetic material, which is where energy pushes or comes together).
