2 GP refers patient Dr Robertson talks to Noah and suggests that he should be referred to a specialist. He searches on the NHS e-Referral Service for local children’s services that deal with speech problems. John and May know that one of the hospitals is close to their house so they choose to go there. 3 Patients book appointment John and May want to check their work diaries before booking the appointment so Dr Robertson sends them the booking instructions electronically. 4 Patient attends appointment The family attends the appointment. Dr Dixon, the paediatrician, assesses Noah and recommends that he sees a speech therapist. John and May choose to see one at the same hospital. Consultant Onward Referral (Any to Any)
