Neighbourhood Grants may vary from $100. 00 to $5, 000. n SUCCESS BY 6 responds to the identified needs of local families by increasing investment in early childhood development and education and providing support for young children in the community. n

Winter Warmth/LEAP The struggle to meet all of your financial commitments can sometimes mean Winter Warmth/LEAP The struggle to meet all of your financial commitments can sometimes mean that you find yourself a little short when the time comes to pay your heat/hydro or gas bill. If you’ve recently had difficulty paying, or are concerned about making your next payment, Winter Warmth/LEAP may be able to help you out. n Currently we are in partnership with Cornwall Electric, Hydro One and Union Gas. n Contact the United Way office at 613 -932 -2051 for more information n

Kraft employee’s entered 9 agencies and volunteered their time to help with any projects needed done (weeding, mulch, cleaning, organizing, labeling etc. ). n It’s times like this where we see how much our community shines when we come together.

Counselling & Support Services of SD&G Counselling and Support Services of S. D. & Counselling & Support Services of SD&G Counselling and Support Services of S. D. & G. is a multi-service, nonprofit, accredited organization providing a range of support and services to children, youth, adults and families in the city of Cornwall and the counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. n Last year they helped 147 individuals within S D & G. n

Bereaved Families of Ontario The Bereaved Families of Cornwall & Area help the bereaved Bereaved Families of Ontario The Bereaved Families of Cornwall & Area help the bereaved to learn to live with a loss. They create programs, services and resources to support bereaved families. Their focus is on bereavement services for adults, children and survivors of suicide. n Last year they helped 125 individuals within S D & G. n

Baldwin House’s Mission is to assist women and their children in the transition from Baldwin House’s Mission is to assist women and their children in the transition from violent and abusive circumstances to a safe and secure environment and a renewed family by providing safe shelter and services, and encouraging them to realize their full potential. n Last year they helped 106 individuals within S D & G. n

Meals on Wheels helps those who are unable to shop for their own food Meals on Wheels helps those who are unable to shop for their own food or to cook maintain their independence at home by delivering nutritious, delicious and affordable meals. Meals on Wheels also provides clients with a caring connection to the community. n They helped over 488 individuals within S D & G last year. n

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of SDG n As Canada’s leading child and youth Big Brothers and Big Sisters of SDG n As Canada’s leading child and youth mentoring charity, Big Brothers, Big Sisters facilitates life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens.

Canadian Mental Health Association The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) provides a wide variety Canadian Mental Health Association The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) provides a wide variety of innovative services to people who are experiencing mental illness and their families. n The CMHA of Champlain East served 3, 599 individuals within SD&G. n

Canadian Hearing Society The Canadian Hearing Society is a non – profit agency and Canadian Hearing Society The Canadian Hearing Society is a non – profit agency and the leading provider of services, products, information that remove barriers to communication, advanced hearing health and promote equity for people who are culturally deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing. n Served 29 individuals in the SD&G area. n

SD&G Developmental Services Centre n The Centre is committed to maximizing the individual potential SD&G Developmental Services Centre n The Centre is committed to maximizing the individual potential and quality of life of persons with a developmental and/or physical challenge in the United Counties of Stormont Dundas and Glengarry.

Tri-Country Literacy n The Tri-County (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry) Literacy Council is a community Tri-Country Literacy n The Tri-County (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry) Literacy Council is a community -based, non-profit organization. Our mandate is to enrich both our community and individuals by addressing literacy needs. n They served 315 individuals within the SD&G area.

Ontario March of Dimes The March of Dimes is a community based rehabilitation and Ontario March of Dimes The March of Dimes is a community based rehabilitation and advocacy charity for people with physical disabilities. Their goal is to enhance the independence and community participation of people with physical disabilities through a wide range of programs and services across the county. n They served 15 individuals within the SD&G area. n

Equipe Psycho-sociale n They offer a variety of programs designed to respond to the Equipe Psycho-sociale n They offer a variety of programs designed to respond to the needs of families that are living and coping with mental health difficulties. n They served 15 individuals within the SD&G area.

Canadian Red Cross n The Canadian Red Cross’ mission is to improve the lives Canadian Red Cross n The Canadian Red Cross’ mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada. The United way helps fund antibullying programs. n They served 1, 692 individuals within SD&G.

North Glengarry Youth Centre Offers a safe haven for children 9 – 17 years North Glengarry Youth Centre Offers a safe haven for children 9 – 17 years of age. They offer afternoon programs, help with computers and homework, have nutritious cooking programs as well as programs for physical activity and resources for youths to help them cope with stress and time management. n They served 481 individuals in Glengarry county. n

Boys and Girls Club of Cornwall and SD&G n They provide a safe, supportive Boys and Girls Club of Cornwall and SD&G n They provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. The United Way of SD&G helps fund their clubhouse programs.

Seaway ME/FM help group n A self help support group for people with myalgic Seaway ME/FM help group n A self help support group for people with myalgic encephalitis (ME) or fibromyalgia (FM) they meet regularly and offers programs to help keep active while living with these chronic conditions.

Canadian Institute for the Blind n The Canadian Institute for the Blind (CNIB) offers Canadian Institute for the Blind n The Canadian Institute for the Blind (CNIB) offers community based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are partially or fully blind to have confidences, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.
