Conclusions • Renewable energy form an indispensable part of any strategy for decarbonising the energy sector • The Renewable Energy Directive provides a good framework for achieving and enforcing the 20% target for 2020 • Next critical step will the delivery of the National Renewable Energy Action Plans. These must be delivered on time, be complete and credible in terms of target compliance
